Sophie Turner and her British aristocrat paramour Peregrine Pearson really kept fans guessing over the course of their two-year romance—but after dating on and off and on again, it seemed like the two might be over for good. Less than two months after Sophie and Perry posed together at the launch of his family estate’s new cookbook (more on that family estate in a sec), it now seems Sophie is romancing Coldplay’s Chris Martin, so it certainly seems like she and Perry are no more.

In light of this new development, now seems like as good a time as any to study their relationship in timeline form. It’s simply the right thing to do when one of your faves is possibly no longer dating someone with a £224 million family fortune (who is also the heir of the 4th Viscount Cowdray and something intimidating called the “Pearson media empire” and the “Cowdray Park Polo Club”).

But first, let’s take things back to September 2023—a truly dark time in the pop culture discourse.

September 2023

TMZ causes everyone to gasp/scream by reporting that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s marriage is on the rocks. A source tells the outlet, “Joe had his people contact and consult with at least two L.A.-area divorce lawyers and he is on the cusp of filing divorce docs to end his marriage to Sophie.”

Soon after, Sophie and Joe release a joint statement confirming their breakup.

“Statement from the two of us: After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly, this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

Also going down in September (though none of us were paying any attention)? Peregrine breaks up with King Charles’s goddaughter Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark, whom he’d been dating since 2020.

October 2023

Amid THE most contentious divorce and custody battle we’ve seen in a long time (fortunately, things have since calmed down), Sophie is spotted kissing British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson in photos exclusively posted by The Sun.

An eyewitness tells the outlet that Sophie and Peregrine were at the Gare du Nord railway station and “they arrived together at the chauffeur pick-up location outside of the station. It looked like they might have both come on the Eurostar from London. They stood there for a few minutes and were chatting and laughing a lot. He then took his hat off and leaned in to give her a big kiss. After the kiss, they parted ways.”

November 2023

A source tells Us Weekly that Joe is not “concerned” about Sophie moving on and says dating is “not on his radar.” (Note: Joe then went on to date model Stormi Bree, though the two have since split, so this does not actually track!)

A Daily Mail source also gets Joe’s reaction to Sophie and Peregrine’s public make-out, and says, “If Sophie wants to gallivant and kiss whomever in public, he doesn’t really want to play those games.” (Again, went on to play those games two months later.)

December 2023

A source tells Us Weekly that Sophie has technically been “dating a few people since her split from Joe,” but she “really seems to like spending time with Perry” and they’ve “become progressively closer.”

“Things are still fairly new,” the insider adds. “But she’s really happy with how things are moving along.” Oh, and while it’s “too soon to tell if there’s long-term potential,” it looks like “things might be headed that way.”

Meanwhile, the pair is once again photographed kissing:

January 2024

Sophie and Perry are once again spotted in public, this time wandering around London with their arms around each other.

Oh, and a source tells Us Weekly that Sophie and Perry “had an immediate spark when they first started dating” and that “things have only grown closer between them since.” The insider also notes, “Of course, the physical attraction is there, but Perry treats Sophie with nothing but respect and he makes her laugh, which is also so important to her.”

However! By the end of the month, they seemingly break up for good. Per the Daily Mail, she and Perry end things after a high-society wedding in September where they were seen “bickering and arguing between feverish snogs.”

Sophie reportedly goes on a “secret date” with Chris Martin (according to the Daily Mail), and now it seems they’re quietly dating. So I guess that’s that!
