Joe Gonzalez: 1991-1993

Sofía married her high school sweetheart Joe and they welcomed their son, Manolo, when Sofia was 18 years old. The couple's relationship didn't last, and they ended up divorcing in 1993.

Sofía told People, "I was really young when I divorced his father, so I raised him trying to set the best example and give him the best that I could," adding, "When people compliment me on him, on how well mannered, how charming, funny and well-behaved he is, it makes all the sacrifices worthwhile."

Joe and Sofía still keep in touch, and in 2011 she told Parade, "We're still close friends. When Jose comes to the United States, he stays with me."

Chris Paciello: 1999

Sofía and Chris Paciello dated in the late '90s, and the New York Post reported that “they seemed very much in love." And that's all we know about that!!

Tom Cruise: 2004

Sofía and Tom Cruise were linked in 2004, but their brief relationship (if it existed) was never confirmed. According to a People article that's since been removed (but is archived over here), Sofía said of the dating rumors, "I've only known Tom for a very short time. It's funny because the media creates what they want to create."

Nick Loeb: 2010-2014

Sofía and Nick started dating in 2010 and got engaged in 2012. But it wasn't meant to be, and the couple ended their engagement in May 2014.

Sofía confirmed the end of their relationship on her WhoSay account (I. Am. Screaming), writing, “Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have [decided] to be apart. We have [been] having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together and [because] of my work and now his, it's been getting worse and worse, not fun anymore."

She added that "we are still very close but we [believe this] is the best thing for us right now."

Their breakup took a turn for the surreal when Nick wrote an op-ed in the New York Times, arguing that the embryos he and Sofía froze via IVF had the "right to live" despite her not consenting. He sued and lost but made headlines by reportedly suing the fertility clinic he and Sofia used in 2023.

Joe Manganiello: 2014-2023

Sofía's personal life remained pretty out of the spotlight until she met Joe in summer 2014. The couple only dated for six months before getting engaged on Christmas Eve 2014. They married in November 2015 and seven years later announced their split.

Sofía and Joe released a statement to Page Six, saying, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

Sources then told the Daily Mail couple's "different attitudes" caused their split. "When people say they will be friendly, they will, but the romance part of things is over, the insider noted. "They grew a part from something that could have been really good."

Justin Saliman: 2023-2024

Following her divorce, Sofía was briefly tied to orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman, with a source for People claiming they were "dating and having fun" in November 2023. In April 2024, she hard launched Justin in her IG Stories, and later posted about the surgeon again in July 2024 during a romantic vacay in Italy.

Though it's unclear when the two went their separate ways, Sofía told Us Weekly back in October 2024 that she was “kind of single” (direct quote: “Now I’m single so…kind of single. [Laughs.] Anyways.”).

Lewis Hamilton: 2025

In January, Sofía sparked dating rumors with the Formula One driver after they were spotted on what appeared to be a "flirty" lunch date, per TMZ. According to the outlet, the pair sat next to each other and Sofía was "so engaged in the conversation she barely touched her food."

However! A source for Us Weekly later claimed the gathering was “merely a casual lunch with a big group of friends in a group setting” and “by no means a date.”

Tom Brady: 2025

Most recently, rumors of a "summer romance" between Tom and Sofía started circulating (per Page Six) after they met at the launch of the Ritz-Carlton's Luminara superyacht—where the NFL legend apparently requested to sit next to the Modern Family alum.

A source told Page Six that Tom "asked to switch seats to sit next to her at dinner," and the outlet also reports that they were "googly-eyed over each other" all night. Sofía even dropped a pic as part of an Instagram dump on July 1:
