Well, it looks like we won't have an Emily in Paris-Secret Life of the American Teenager crossover any time soon. Shailene Woodley, who once mused “my religion is the Earth, man, I believe in trees,” and Lucas Bravo have reportedly broken up after six months together.
The couple caught the internet slightly by surprise in March thanks to no one having any idea that they even knew each other, but honestly, weirder celebrity pairings have happened. See: Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet.
It started when the two were spotted wandering around Paris cuddling, and has reportedly ended with an Instagram scrub and a confirmation to People. So yeah, obviously, a timeline (complete with background/lore) is needed for important research and journalism purposes.

Lucas tells Glamour his relationship dealbreakers. “I really don’t like when the person runs away,” he muses. “I like communication. It’s the basis of everything. I don’t like when there is an elephant in the room and the person chooses to just run away or slam the door or sit in a corner with their baby face on. I don’t like pouting or when someone avoids a conversation.”
That same month, he tells Elle, "I like that ‘instant connection.’ Sometimes, you just run into someone, you look at this person in the eyes, and in an instant, in a second, so much is said. There’s an entire conversation going through each other’s eyes in an instant, and you feel like you’ve known the person, or the person knows you—it’s the connection I’m looking for. Just feeling safe and feeling like there’s an old soul in front of me, and we’ve always known each other [like] in a past life or something…it’s something you cannot see, and that’s mostly what I’m looking for.”
He concluded w ith, “And in order to find that, I guess you need to be willing to tear down the masks and armours and be vulnerable and it’s so hard in this society.”

Shailene is spotted with a “mystery man” at the White Horse Tavern in NYC, and a source tells People that they were “in great spirits, engaged in conversation together and were seen eating burrata and a platter of dips and had wine on the table,” and “were dressed casual and all smiles.”

Shailene opens up about her 2022 split from Aaron Rodgers, telling Outside magazine (v. on brand publication for her btw), “I haven’t shared much about my relationship with Aaron because it always makes me cry. It was not right. But it was beautiful.”

Shailene and Lucas make their debut. Or, to quote Us Weekly: “Shailene Woodley is saying au revoir to American suitors and cozying up to French actor Lucas Bravo.” Anyway, yeah, the couple are spotted hand-in-hand in Paris, in coordinating outfits, no less!
The next day, Shailene and Lucas are once again spotted on a romantic walk in Paris, and couldn’t look more obsessed with each other. Like:

When asked by People about his budding relationship at the opening night of Broadway's Good Night, and Good Luck, Lucas simply says, “Yeah, I’m really happy.”

A source for People gives an update on the lovebirds! Per the insider, the two “keep traveling between the U.S. and France” and are going strong.
“The relationship gives off a positive vibe,” the source adds. “He’s an attentive and sweet guy. He makes Shailene very happy. They’re having a great time together.”
Shailene also includes a sneaky pic of Lucas in a Disneyland photo dump (which has since been deleted):

Shailene is spotted supporting Lucas on the set of Emily in Paris, which is currently filming its fifth season.
Just about a week later, Lucas drops a bunch of cute pics of himself and Shailene from a group camping trip.
September 2025
People confirms that Shailene and Lucas have called it quits, citing an unnamed source. And the outlet also pointed out that the two have deleted any evidence of their relationship from Instagram. Ouch.
An insider later tells People that Shailene and Lucas “just have different priorities” and decided to go their separate ways without “drama or hard feelings.”
