A brand-new season of Selling the OC is here, with The Oppenheim Group agents at the Orange County branch back to sell more luxury real estate. As usual, there’s lots of drama, some new agents and a new(ish) relationship...
The series started with Alex Hall and Tyler Stanaland at odds, as it was rumored that he’d been dating someone else while pursuing her. Things came to a head when the two had a tequila-fueled chat during Gio’s birthday trip. The pair were finally able to squash it and move on, with Alex packing up her place in the OC to move into a new home with her not-so-new boyfriend, Ian Young.
So, who exactly is Ian Young and how long have he and Alex been together? Here’s everything you need to know.
Who is Ian Young?
Ian Young briefly dated Alex before Tyler was in the picture. Based on a May 2025 Instagram post, it seems like Alex and Ian first met after her mom dated Ian’s dad and invited him for Christmas dinner three years ago, which is...interesting!
They rekindled their romance on the current season and even moved in together, but not everyone approved of their relationship, with Gio saying, “[Alex] is lowering that bar way too far. He’s just a little puppy dog following her around, and maybe she’s dating the opposite of what Tyler is to try to get over him.”
Is Ian Young on Instagram?
He is, but his account is currently private.
In his bio, he describes himself as a “purveyor of good times” and says that he is a “corporate pilot” and “dirtbike dude.”
His family runs a business known as Costa Mesa Speedway, which is advertised as a Performance & Event Venue on Instagram.
Are Alex Hall and Ian Young still together?
During the season, Ian hinted at marriage during Polly’s birthday party—and judging by Alex’s recent comments, they’re still going strong. However! On whether they’ve made any more plans to get married, Alex admitted that they have “two completely different lifestyles” and are currently adjusting to their house move.
“I’ve still got my place here in Orange County. We’ve also got the house in Temecula. Trying to merge both [lifestyles] is what we’re trying to figure out right now. But everything’s going great, and I’m still very excited,” she recently told Tudum.
Back in March, Alex went Instagram official with Ian, sharing a video of them kissing alongside a heartfelt caption. She wrote, “Ladies, if you’ve been in you’re masculine for too long because you felt like you had to be, or because you were in survival mode, or because you never fully surrendered because it didn’t feel safe or it was too vulnerable…I promise there’s hope! But it starts with you.”
She continued, “Find yourself the RIGHT man..a REAL man, don’t let him go-ALLOW HIM IN. Allow yourself to feel safe, surrender, and let him lead. I’m still a work in progress, but I found my pink again 💕 How’s that for a hard launch?”
