As you know, we've been all over the ridiculous things politicians have said about women's reproductive rights this election season. And, unfortunately, there's more to report.

Wisconsin state representative Roger Rivard made the completely offensive remark, "some girls rape easy" to a newspaper back in December. Now he's speaking about it again, but instead of apologizing, he's defending his comment.

In an interview with the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal, Rivard explained that the quote originally came from his father who was warning him about premarital sex. Why? Because, Rivard says, "consensual sex can turn into rape in an awful hurry." He added, "All of a sudden a young lady gets pregnant and the parents are madder than a wet hen and she's not going to say, 'Oh, yeah, I was part of the program.'"

Yikes. We're not sure why Rivard felt the need to repeat this. Comments like this aren't just offensive—they're dangerous because it blames women for violence that is committed against them.

Rivard released a statement after his most recent interview, saying that his comments were "misunderstood."

What do you think of Rivard's remarks?
