Joe Keery’s Short n’ Sweet Dating History, In Case You’re Suddenly Curious

If you’ve landed on our corner of the internet, it means one of three things: A) you’re seriously shipping Djo/Joe Keery and Sabrina Carpenter after she “arrested” him at Austin City Limits, B) you’re checking to see if he’s already dating her for that reason, or C) you’re wondering if he’s single so you can finally shoot your shot with him.

As of right now, the Stranger Things actor and musician (a.k.a Djo) isn’t romantically tied to anyone…but this was the consensus after his overly eager appearance during Sabrina’s headlining set at ACL on October 4:

That being said, you might be wondering who he has dated in the past. Spoiler alert: Joe Keery’s dating history is short n’ sweet.

Come to think of it, Djo/Joe has really only been in one very public relationship, and it was with fellow actor, Maika Monroe. The pair first sparked dating rumors in the thick of his breakout role as Steve Harrington on Stranger Things, when they filmed After Everything together in 2017.

While most of their relationship was relatively private, Joe and Maika appeared on tons of red carpets together in their nearly six years together, including the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party in March 2022. He gave rare insight into his love life during an interview with GQ in 2021.

“Over quarantine, it was like we spent so much time together, which was rare,” Joe said of their relationship at the time. “I mean, that’s one of the disadvantages of dating someone else in the industry. There are advantages as well: somebody who kind of understands what's going on with you in a pretty deep way. But yeah, I think she’s like me. She doesn’t take it all too seriously.”

Reports of their breakup surfaced when TMZ obtained images of Maika kissing Ariana Grande’s ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, in October 2023.

While neither of them confirmed their split at the time, Joe got candid about a “big breakup” without naming names during a conversation with Variety in 2024. He shared that it went down before he started filming Fargo season 5 in Calgary.

“I had also gone through a big breakup, right as I was leaving Rome, so I was really isolated and focused on my work,” he told the outlet. “My social life pretty much revolved around the show; my work life revolved around the show.”

Okay, take this one with a grain of salt, because reports and details are pretty slim. Joe was rumored to be linked to I Know What You Did Last Summer star Chase Sui Wonders after Page Six published photos of them strolling through New York City in October 2023. Per the pics and the outlet’s initial report, she “kept a close grip” on him while showing him something on her phone.

They were spotted again in February 2024, a few months after their respective splits from Pete Davidson and Maika were seemingly confirmed.

Neither Joe nor Chase ever confirmed the nature of their relationship, so it’s unclear whether this stayed in platonic territory or not.
