During her recent cover story with Cosmopolitan, the actress spilled aaaaall the deets on her romance, from how she and Jack met to what went down at their legendary wedding.

Summer 2021
It’s unclear ~exactly~ when they met, but according to Margaret, the two first connected “right as COVID was ending” at a small party on a roof. As she explained to Cosmo, “We saw each other on a roof, and we just started talking and never stopped. We went on a series of walks throughout the city that summer.”
Oh, and btw: It was Margaret’s older sister Rainey who helped facilitate the meet-cute. Apparently, Rainey was recording at Electric Lady Studios (where Jack works) when she heard rumors that Jack was seeking a “forever love.”
“So when there was a small party on the roof and I had a bit too much to drink, I proceeded to tell Jack that he needed to date my sister!” she told Cosmo.

Jack is nominated for Album of the Year for the work he did on Taylor Swift’s Evermore, but before the show airs, he wins Producer of the Year in the Non-Classical category for a bunch of work, including Taylor Swift’s “Gold Rush,” Lana Del Rey’s Chemtrails Over the Country Club, and Lorde’s Solar Power, to name literally only a few.

Margaret and Jack are engaged! A source confirms to People that the musician proposed to the Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood actor, but Margaret lets fans know the news herself on her Instagram!
In a series of three selfies of her and Jack, Margaret shows off her hand, which is weighed down by a gorge diamond. “Oh, I love him!” she captions the pics (though sadly, she has since deleted the post).
Before that, Margaret set the internet a-b-l-a-z-e when she wore a stunning diamond sparkler on *that* finger at the premiere of her film Stars at Noon while at the Cannes Film Festival, and everyone was pretty much like 👀👀👀.
Later, during a September 2024 interview with The Sunday Times, Margaret explained that the proposal went down while she was filming The Substance. “I was so excited that I tackled him and he cut his knee, and I flipped over a chair, but it was cute,” she quipped. The two then celebrated the proposal with champagne at the Ritz in Paris.

Jack’s song with longtime collaborator Lana Del Rey titled “Margaret” debuts on the singer’s ninth album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, and fans just KNOW that the track is all about the producer’s partner. “When you know, you know,” the duo sings in the chorus. “It kinda makes me laugh / Runnin' down that path / When you’re good, it’s gold / ’Cause when you know, you know.”
Plus, in the song’s first verse, the “Born to Die” songstress seemingly recounts Margaret and Jack's first time meeting: “He met Margaret on a rooftop, she was wearin’ white / And he was like, ‘I might be in trouble’ / He had flashes of the good life, he was like / ‘Should I jump off this building now or do it on the double?’” Obsessed!

The couple attends the New York City premiere of Margaret’s new film, Sanctuary. It’s a cute date night for Margaret and Jack, who look incredible and even pose for pics at the event, which is held at the Metrograph theater in New York City.

The couple ties the knot on Long Beach Island and welcomes *tons* of famous faces to the celebration, including Lana Del Rey, Zoë Kravitz, Channing Tatum, Cara Delevingne, *and* Taylor Swift, whose presence at the rehearsal dinner causes such a ruckus outside the Black Whale Bar & Fish House that local Beach Haven police are called to disperse the frenzied fans:

As Margaret later told Cosmo about the event: “It was just so much fun. I got so drunk. I’ve never had that many espresso martinis in my life.”

Margaret opens up about her romance with Jack during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar and gushes, “I am so happy that I found my person...and it’s real. It’s amazing. It’s the best feeling in the world. I’m so excited and so at ease all at once.”
The actor also adds, “Until about a month before I met Jack, I never had any furniture... It’s really exciting now to be making a home and to have something to care for.”

During an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the producer recalls that his wedding day was “really beautiful” and more emotional than he'd expected, which 😭😭😭.
“Someone told me that when you die and when you get married is the only time everyone you love is in a room,” he starts out during the convo. “And I was like, ‘Oh that is just a thing someone says and I perform for a living so I don’t mind if the attention is on me.' And then as soon as it started, my whole body became wet...I’m looking for jokes, but it was just really beautiful.”

In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Jack gets candid about his upcoming Bleachers album and how he was inspired by “the renewing power of romance.” His first few records with the band were influenced by his late sister Sarah after she lost a battle with leukemia when she was 13 and he was 18. However, the new self-titled album touches on other subjects—including how he fell in love with Margaret.
“I don’t think the highest version of keeping someone’s memory alive is not living, you know? And that’s an almost impossible thing to realize isn’t true,” he says, explaining that his sister’s death impacted his anger, anxiety, and panic attacks over the years. He then adds that the “depth of his connection” with Margaret also helped open his mind.
Meanwhile, Margaret chats about Jack to Elle UK, saying it was basically love at first sight: “I’d met Jack probably two weeks before, but I was head over heels in love right away. I had a sure, knowing feeling that he was my husband.”

“Who is this gorgeous brunette in the front here?” Sabrina says as the camera panned to Jack. She then nods to Jack’s producing skills before he pulls Margaret into the frame.
“This right there, ladies and gentlemen, this is a hottie with substance,” Sabrina jokes, referencing Margaret’s film The Substance. The actor even blows a kiss to the camera in true Sue style.

During her cover story interview with Cosmo, Margaret gushes about her man. “Falling in love with Jack was the biggest feeling I’ve ever felt,” she says.
As for who said I love you first: It was Jack. “I’m very old-school about stuff like this,” she explains. “I would never put myself out there first. I never text twice. I mean, now we’re married and I can text him anything at any time. We’re always having a conversation; he’s like my human diary.”
