Mia Calabrese is having a moment. As one of Summer House’s season 10 newbies, the Chicago-born real estate agent turned reality star has quickly become a Bravo fan favorite, thanks to her fab party looks and tight bond with Ciara Miller.
As her star continues to rise, so does her girls’ girl spirit and chic fashion sense. That’s why she sat down with cultural commentator and podcaster Mina Le for a live conversation at On Air, In Style: An Evening With Spotify, at The Amber Room in NYC on Tuesday, April 28.
Of course, she dished about her favorite themed party in the Hamptons, how her parents’ fashion sense affected her own, and how being one of the fresh faces of Summer House has elevated her outfit game. Toward the end of their convo, Mia jokingly refused to hop offstage—and that alone tells me she’s one to watch.
But before the fab fashion event, Cosmo caught up with the rising reality star over a dirty martini, where she revealed her favorite Summer House cast member (aside from her bestie Ciara, of course) and how the show has elevated her personal style.
“I’m definitely going out more, so I’m having to buy fancy or cuter clothes. Because before all this, I was just a real estate agent. I would go to fun events and do certain things, but I was dressing in, like, power suits,” Mia exclusively told Cosmopolitan of her style journey. “It’s been so fun because I feel like I’m playing dress-up every day, and I’m just so excited and grateful.”
Long before joining the Bravo hit series set in the Hamptons, she and Ciara would debrief all the drama. Now, being fully in the mix with the other housemates, Mia reveals she’s bonded with Lindsay Hubbard.
“I love her. Oh my gosh. She’s hilarious. She’s strong. She’s funny. She takes no shit from anyone,” she gushed. “And I feel like Lindsay and I are very similar because she’s very intense and I can be very intense.”
And yes, Mia is as close to Ciara as ever.
“She’s my best friend, she’s fabulous, and she’s the sweetest person ever,” Mia gushed about Ciara, adding, “I’ve been with her every day in the last seven days, so I’m not surprised we’re finishing each other’s sentences.”
She continued, “Before, she and I didn’t really talk about Summer House because that was very separate. She and I just didn’t always have those conversations. We talk about everything we would talk about before, but we also have to talk about the show because now I’m in it.”
In case you missed it: Ciara is at the center of behind-the-scenes drama with her ex West Wilson and best friend Amanda Batula that catapulted Summer House season 10 into the cultural zeitgeist. Fans are itching for more details of the upcoming reunion special, which has partly been leaked by someone on set.
“I’m sad to see that the audio leaked, because we were there for so many hours pouring our lives out, and it’s disheartening that someone would do that,” Mia said.
As for the identity of the person who leaked the audio, which Bravo claims came from the show’s production team, Mia admitted, “I don’t know the details at all, but it’s hard. It’s not a great feeling.”
Though this isn’t Mia’s first foray into reality TV—she starred on Discovery+’s Selling the Hamptons a few years back—she’s ready for more Summer House.
“I like this so much. It was so much more fun than talking about fixtures, moldings, and plumbing,” Mia shared. “Like, what do you mean? I get to party with my friends in a house in the summer and throw themed parties. It’s great.”
We’ll have to tune in to the Summer House season 10 reunion to see how exactly things got resolved.
