Those tuning into the final season of The Boys and those who quit the Amazon Prime Video series, or fell behind, but can’t seem to let go of morbid curiosity about how it ends might want to keep track of every fatality. No matter your situation, here’s a breakdown of every character who died on The Boys Season 5.

The Boys was such a violent and cynical show that the final season simply has to kill off some major characters. They made good on that promise almost instantly. Nobody was safe. Was this the end of Homelander (Anthony Starr) once and for all? Did Hughie (Jack Quaid) possibly survive? Did Starlight (Erin Moriarty) make the ultimate sacrifice? What about Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito), Ashley (Colbie Minifie), Butcher (Karl Urban), Frenchie (Tomer Capone) or Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara)?

The final season began with a major death, just in case you thought The Boys was going to pull its punches. A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) has been on the show since the very beginning. The speedster started off as an antagonist and grew increasingly frustrated with how Vought treated him, especially as a former athlete. He joined Starlight’s rebellion, recruited some youths at the end of Gen V season 2, but in the season 5 premiere, got killed by Homelander himself.

This character from The Boys comics appeared sporadically on the show and Gen V and returns here for the longest (no pun intended) and last time. He uses his supernaturally big d*ck as a weapon and got killed in the premiere’s big battle thanks to Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) and his own appendix.

Died in: Season 5, Episode 2

The fifth season introduced some young influencer-y antagonists and almost immediately killed one off. Jetstreak (Dylan Colton) was the leader of the Teenage Kix and used rounding up Starlight’s allies as an excuse to create content. His powers included flight and super hearing. Unfortunately for him, Jetstreak got hit with the test run of the anti-V supe-killing virus that Butcher (Karl Urban) plans to use against Homelander and quickly succumbed.

This freaky antagonist (Andrew Iles) got got by the virus. One of his powers is immortality, so his death was kind good news for Frenchie, Butcher and the rest of The Boys’ master plan. The only survivor of that attack was Soldier Boy, who is immune due to the V1 in his bloodstream.

Maverick (Nicholas Hamilton), the son of the late Translucent (Alex Hassell) was killed by The Deep’s (Chace Crawford) henchperson Cindy (Ess Hödlmoser) just after learning that Hughie killed his father. The character showed up on the first Gen V as well, and briefly in the second season.

In turn, Starlight took out the Eleven-from-Stranger-Things wannabe Cindy–who tried to kill Starlight in a previous season. At the beginning of the final season, we saw Cindy stationed at a Vought internment camp and killing an escapee. So the death of this ruthless character is not exactly super sad.

Died in: Season 5, Episode 5

The fifth episode included a celebrity cameo fest thanks to Mister Marathon and Malchemical’s poker game. They all died in the fight that ensues. Oops! Rogen, who is of course an executive producer on the series IRL, got the last and most gruesome death scene.

We also learned that Bill Hader was executed in this universe.

The Supernatural actor also did not survive his cameo. He might have been a supe history enthusiast, speedster, and former member of The Seven (replaced by A-Train before the start of the series) but he wasn’t enough for Homelander. Sucks to be a Sony hero!

Make that both of them! In the fifth episode’s Supernatural reunion sequence, Mister Marathon and Malchemical tried to get Soldier Boy to betray Homelander and bring the world back to normal. Unfortunately, Soldier Boy was not persuaded and killed the very memorable superhero himself.

The fifth episode saved its biggest death for last. After betraying her childhood church, her faith in Homelander finally started to waver. Unbeknownst to her, however, Soldier Boy admited to Homelander that he’s sleeping with her and that she’d been expressing doubts. Homelander confronts her about it and killed her.

Died in: Season 5, Episode 6

The sixth episode had fewer deaths than the ones before and after it–but the loss was still pretty major. The Deep and Black Noir’s complicated dynamic came to a head when the latter caused an oil spill and the former killed you. He loves the ocean! Can you blame him?

Noooooooo!! The original members of the titular group “The Boys” got got by Homelander just before the series finale. He died in Kimoko’s arms. If you didn’t truly believe that nobody is safe this season, Frenchie’s death made it crystal clear.

The super-preacher Oh Father did his darndest to deify Homelander in the final season and was killed in the final episode by Mother’s Milk during The Boys’ assault on the White House.

The Deep

Died in: Season 5, Episode 8

In the middle of the final season, The Deep was banned from the ocean under pain of death for his involvement in an oil pipeline disaster. The marine life made good on that promise in the series finale. Starlight removed him from the White House before the final confrontation and whisked him off to the beach. After a brief fight, she punted him into the ocean and a horde of sea creatures finished the job.

Homelander

Died in: Season 5, Episode 8

Kind of the only character who “needed” to die this season was the biggest Big Bad, Homelander. He was evil enough as is, and then became a power-hungry monstrosity in the final season. After declaring himself “god of the ashes” (okay Daenerys Targaryen…) from the Oval Office on National television, Butcher appeared. Kimiko and Homelander’s son Ryan joined soon after.

To avenge Frenchie, Kimiko rendered Homelander powerless. Her blast took away Butcher’s powers too, but he didn’t need them to finally kill Homelander.

Butcher

Died in: Season 5, Episode 8

In a devastating finale twist, Hughie had to kill his former ally to prevent him from releasing the virus world-wide and killing any potential future evil supes. Their final confrontation is brutal. Who knew it was going to be between them in the end??

It’s a tough moral call that kind of leaves the ending open. The Boys is over, but another Vought villain could rise. Stan Edgar returned as CEO. That’s not ideal. We’ll just have to wait and see what the franchise has planned.

Also devastating: Butcher’s dog Terror died!
