- Taylor Frankie Paul was rumored to join the next season of Dancing With the Stars after her stint as The Bachelorette.
- Sources claim that the offer fell through when ABC canceled her season of The Bachelorette amid a domestic dispute with her ex, Dakota Mortensen.
- Now, DeuxMoi reports that The Traitors and Love Island fan favorites, Rob Rausch and Maura Higgins, could potentially join the cast.
Could Rob Rausch and Maura Higgins grace our screens for another reality TV moment? After they shook the nation on The Traitors, Rob and Maura won viewers over with their undeniable chemistry and Birkin bag saga. And now, that charm may have landed them a spot on the next season of Dancing With the Stars.
According to a DeuxMoi tipster, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul was rumored to make her way to the DWTS ballroom after her stint as The Bachelorette—ya know, before her season got scrapped entirely.
“Taylor Frankie Paul was set to be announced on DWTS this month and even had an entire date on the Bachelorette that was going to set up the [announcement],” the source dished in an email.
They added, “Now that the season is no longer airing and all of the controversy, they are now seeking to get former bachelorette and host Tayshia Adams signed onto the show, but don’t expect an official [announcement] for a few months. Expect a Rob and Maura dual [announcement] for DWTS as well.”
It’s not entirely far-fetched, since ABC had been eyeing the SLOMW cast for a potential crossover during the Hulu show’s first season. Taylor’s fellow MomTok members, Whitney Leavitt and Jen Affleck, even competed on the reality dancing competition’s last season.
“We basically carved out times where they [the ‘Mormon Wives’ crew] could film rehearsals and we always had a producer present just in case something happened that was dramatically important for our show,” DWTS showrunner Conrad Green told The Los Angeles Times in March. “It’s like a gentleman’s agreement—we’re borrowing talent off another show so we have to work together and it works for everyone’s benefit.”
Though it’s merely a rumor, this recent development is up Maura’s alley since she told The Hollywood Reporter she’s down to compete for the famous Mirrorball trophy.
“Maybe [I’d do] Dancing With the Stars,” she revealed to the outlet in March. “It’s something that’d be a challenge for me. I’ve never danced. I’d done a bit of Irish dancing when I was younger. It’d be a huge challenge, but I know I’d throw myself into it and all the looks and glitter.”
Rob and Maura have yet to confirm or deny their involvement on DWTS. Casting for the show’s upcoming season is still largely under wraps but will likely be announced on Good Morning America, just like previous seasons.
Anyway, ABC…I’d like to see it!
