In a plot twist no one saw coming, Bravo announced that Vanderpump Rules is being rebooted with an all-new cast. The network dropped this bombshell back in November 2024, and ever since, I’ve personally been coping by whisper-singing, “You know that it’s our time / These are the best days of our lives,” tears streaming down my face. Kidding...but only kind of.
We will always hold up the original VPR as the gold standard for good reality TV but can’t deny that this reboot sounds intriguing. Here’s what we know about when the new Vanderpump Rules drops, who’s in the cast, and why Bravo made this decision. But first:
When does Vanderpump Rules season 12 premiere?
In July, fans caught a new group of SURvers filming—and reportedly, the cast began production way back in April 2025. As Lisa Vanderpump said of production while chatting with E! News in May, “It’s moving along at a very fast pace.”
Then, at long last, Bravo announced that Vanderpump Rules season 12 will premiere on Tuesday, December 2, at 9 p.m. ET.
Who is in the Vanderpump Rules season 12 cast?
In the spirit of the original show, season 12 is using existing staffers from Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurants to fill out the cast. Joining the Bravoverse for the Vanderpump Rules reboot are Venus Binkley, Jason Cohen, Shayne Davis, Chris Hahn, Angelica Jensen, Marcus Johnson, Audrey Lingle, Natalie Maguire, Demy Selem, and Kim Suarez.
Lisa herself noted, “[We’re] not gonna try and compete with the old Vanderpump Rules. It’s just gonna be totally different there. Still, we’ll go back to the premise of the complications of running a restaurant and the staff in it. And that always has a story to tell.”
Is there a Vanderpump Rules season 12 trailer?
You bet! Check it out (and get excited) below.
Why is Vanderpump Rules being rebooted?
Depends on who you ask. According to People, Bravo recast the show because “there were so many fractions” among the original SURvers.
“There had been a long pause in production, and nothing had really changed among the cast since the reunion,” a source said. “Everyone was still stuck in their feelings and refusing to bend. The network felt there was no path forward with the group in that capacity.”
The insider noted that “the group ties to SUR and Lisa was practically nonexistent” so “it just didn’t make sense to continue.”
They added, “This is an attempt to recalibrate and bring the show back to the thing that made it such a success to begin with. It’s a fresh start, and the players they have are interested and motivated to participate. Fans will be happy with what they see. It’s going to feel like a return to form.”
Oh, and another source shut down theories that the original cast’s salary demands had to do with their ousting, saying it “was completely driven by creative” and “there weren’t any negotiations happening between the cast and the network where money was even discussed.”
Meanwhile, Andy Cohen said that recasting the show was “the absolute right thing to do” and a “very smart programming move.”
He went on to add, “I’m so impressed with the gang from Vanderpump Rules. The production team and the folks on the show. Specifically, the folks on the show who always remained very true to themselves. Like it or hate it or like them or hate them, they were always very much themselves, and that’s what made that show so entertaining and surprising season after season.”
