Netflix's newest rom-com The Life List is finally here and in case you were wondering, yes, it's based on the hit Lori Nelson Spielman book of the same name. It tells the story of a young woman named Alex who, in the midst of trying to deal with the loss of her mom, receives a pre-recorded video from her late mother challenging her to start checking off items on the bucket list she made when she was a teenager. With each item she checks off, she earns another recording.

Sound like something you'd wanna watch? Well, before you dive in, here's a breakdown of the cast and characters.

Sofia Carson as Alex

Alex Rose is grief-stricken and a little aimless when she's given a challenge from her mother from beyond the grave: finish the bucket list she wrote up when she was a teenager. Trying out stand-up comedy? Going all out in a mosh pit? Her 13-year-old self thought these were all great ideas, and so does her mom.

Sofia Carson is an actress and singer who got her start on Disney Channel's Austin & Ally. She stayed in the Disney-verse appearing in Descendants, Adventures in Babysitting and A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits. You also may recognize her from the 2022 Netflix film Purple Hearts and Carry-On in 2024.

Kyle Allen as Brad

Brad is a young lawyer who's been appointed executor of Alex's mom's estate, so it's his job to make sure she's finishing the items on the list and earning the next recording. As Alex works her way through the list, they become closer and closer, and, well, you can probably guess what happens next!

Kyle Allen is a California native who you've seen in shows like American Horror Story: Apocalypse and The Path or movies like West Side Story and The In Between.

Sebastian de Souza as Garrett

Garrett and Alex both work at the women's shelter Esther House and, on paper, he should totally be the perfect boyfriend. But as we all know, that's not always the best way to tell if something will work out.

Sebastian de Souza is an English actor who's probably best known for his role in British teen comedy Skins. But you may also know him from his role in the first season of The Great alongside Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult.

Connie Britton as Elizabeth

Elizabeth is the mother of Alex (and Alex's two older brothers) and she's also the leader of a big cosmetics brand. She's diagnosed with a terminal illness and, knowing she won't be around to help Alex as she navigates early adulthood, decides to leave her a collection of DVDs with all the life lessons she wants her daughter to learn.

Connie Britton needs no introduction — she's been in every-freaking-thing from The West Wing to Friday Night Lights to Dirty John and The White Lotus.A true icon!

Dario Ladani Sanchez as Lucas

One of Alex's older brothers, Lucas will forever think of Alex as his little sister who their mom lets get away with anything.

Dario Ladani Sanchez is an actor, musician and Yale Drama graduate (talk about a triple threat). He has a handful of acting credits so far, one of which is for Dear Edward, which Connie Britton also starred in.

Federico Rodriguez as Julian

Alex's other brother is much more business-minded and would rather focus on the family business than Alex's seemingly bizarre bucket list journey. But he just might have a change of heart!

Federico Rodriguez has acted both on stage and on screen. Some of the bigger titles he's worked on include American Rust, Past Lives and Blue Bloods.
