We may earn commission from links on this page, but we only recommend products we love. Promise.

This just in: the Olympics are hornier than any of us could have anticipated. Between Thomas Ceccon lifting his arms and exposing his lower abs to us (still attempting to recover), a French pole vaulter's dick being LITERALLY too big, and the Olympic Village having to once again employ the use of anti-sex beds, it's been a lot (positive).

And to make matters hornier, there are no fewer than 21 couples at the Olympics spending their time being cute n' in love n' whatnot. Some of whom got engaged during the Games. And while yeah, they are all geniuses/top performers in their respective sports, they are also taking home the win in romance, IF YOU WILL.

Point is: If you're watching the Olympics less for the "athletics" and more for the memes, Seine drama, and videos of that little red hat mascot floating around on a jet ski, this will pertain to your interests.

These two are so cute that I devoted several hours of my life writing an entire timeline of their relationship. TL;DR? They ran into each other at a high school track meet, had a flirty DM convo, fell in love, got married, and went on to dominate the Olympics and Paralympics for Team USA. Someone make a movie about these two, I beg you.

Lee Kiefer and Gerek Meinhardt

NBC referred to Lee and Gerek as "sword crossed lovers," which is both hilarious and accurate. The husband-and-wife fencing duo met at the London Olympics back in 2012, and when they're not sparring for gold, they're busy getting medical degrees at the University of Kentucky.

"We can help push each other through all the ups and downs," Lee told Town & Country about competing alongside her husband, going on to add, "We love doing it together."

Cuuuuuuuuute.

Olga Kharlan and Luigi Samele

Guess fencing is a particularly, um, erotic sport, because there's yet another sword-crossing couple in Paris: Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan and Italian fencer Luigi Samele. These two reportedly met when they were young (professional fencing is a small world) but didn't get together until just a few years ago!

Gabriella Willems and Christian Parlati

Gabriella and Christian bonded over their love for judo, fell in love, and now live in Naples together (though Gabriella is from Belgium).

She spoke about competing with her partner to La Libre, saying (via translation), “It’s an additional motivation and a beautiful common dream that we can realize. I think it’s unique, because I don’t know any other couples who will be on the carpet on the same day."

Side note: It goes without saying we love a couple who dress in matching outfits.

Engaged basketball stars Anneli Maley and Marena Whittle are repping Team Australia! And they couldn't be more excited about taking their relationship to Paris.

"It's about getting to create something that is normal and to have visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community,' Anneli told News Corp. "It's obviously about basketball, but how cool is it that we get to be that example for the younger girls and boys who get to see that representation on an Olympic stage. Some young ones may be afraid to stay something (about their sexuality), so hopefully seeing us at the Olympics can put them at ease and help in some way."

Love this.

6

Rossella Fiamingo and Gregorio Paltrinieri

He's a swimmer. She's a fencer. They've both already won medals in Paris. So yeah, they're basically thriving.

These two actually met during the Tokyo Olympics (what happens in the Olympic Village does not stay in the Olympic village) and have since gotten engaged.

Rosella told Olympics.com that before Gregorio's win, "I told him I didn’t want to see his race, not for anything bad but because I was in the final too. We both knew we wanted these medals and tonight we wanted to come back with a medal each to celebrate. One wasn’t enough. We both wanted to be happy with our performances."

Team China badminton player Huang Ya Qiong won gold in Paris and then got a marriage proposal from her teammate Li Yuchen! In other words, August 2 was a top 10 day in her life.

Jasmine Moore and Joseph Fahnbulleh

Team USA's Jasmine Moore and Team Liberia's Joseph Fahnbulleh fell in love at the Tokyo Olympic Village and have been going strong since—on and off the race track.

“We knew of each other [because] track’s a small world. I was like, ‘Okay, I know that he goes to Florida, and I’m going there, and I know no one else here,'" Jasmine told People. "We hung out in Tokyo the whole time, and then when I got to Florida, we hung out. And now we’re dating."

Lisa Barbelin and Thomas Chirault

Oh these two? Just a couple professional archers who fell in love.

Apparently, French athletes Lisa and Thomas met at the (arrow) shooting range, though it took some time for them to connect. “A few years in, we started to meet a little more so to speak,” Thomas told World Archery. “And since then, it’s been a great adventure that we’ve shared together.”

She added, “We are living magical moments together and we are very happy to be able to make these Olympic Games. Here, in Paris, at home, both of us, it’s really something incredible.”

12

Manon Apithy-Brunet and Bolade Apithy

Sorry, not done talking about fencers who fall in love. France's Manon Apithy-Brunet and Bolade Apithy got married in 2021 and have competed alongside each other three times.

When asked by Olympics.com how they keep improving, Bolade simply said "We love each other. I say love a little jokingly, but it’s the truth. When you’re good in your outside life, it’s easier to be strong in your sport."

He added, “When we come home from training, there is no one who says ‘come on, let’s go to the cinema at 10:30 p.m.’ We are both on the same wavelength, it also provides daily support and motivation. When there is one who is not well, the other can help him because he has already been there."

Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina

A true power couple! By which I mean they're really good at tennis and happen to be married with a cute baby.

Anyway, feel free to gush over this quote from Gael (Team France) about Elina (Team Ukraine):

“She’s a great mother first. That’s first. People want to put tennis first but I think she’s a great mother first. This is the most important for me as her husband because of course we are a tennis couple but life is beyond our sport. She’s an excellent and great mother and as you said she managed it well on the court. I’m surprised how well she came back, how strong she is mentally and physically. It’s just amazing."

Abbadini Yumin and Elisa Iorio

Meet Team Italy's gymnast love birds! Abbadini and Elisa couldn't be cuter if they tried, and while their love story is kiiiinda hard to find details on, we dug around and discovered a very cute anecdote straight from to Abbadini. Ahem:

"She made the first move," he said. "Doing the same sport helps, we both know how hard it is to spend time together... fortunately, we don't just talk about gymnastics!"

Meanwhile, Elisa added, "We have known each other since 2017, and I have always liked him as a person. He is a pure soul who speaks little but has much to tell and incredible determination."

They're both amazing at tennis and they're both hot, so yeah. Just makes sense they'd fall in love (over a cup of coffee, randomly).

"We bumped into each other at six in the morning and ended up getting a coffee. From that moment, I knew I was in it for the long haul," Katie (who plays for Great Britain) said of meeting Alex (who plays for Team Australia). "Growing up, I was always super-close to my grandpa: I always said to myself that if I can find someone who has half his heart, I'll be the luckiest woman in the world. I've found that person in Alex. He puts me before himself all the time and takes care of the people around him – his family and his team. He's my best example of what I want to be."

BRB, crying.

16

Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield

Team USA's very own Noah Lyles (aka the FASTEST MAN IN THE WORLD!!!!) and Team Jamaica's Junelle Bromfield are absolutely crushing it at the Paris Olympics, and their mutual support is key to their success.

“My girlfriend’s on [a] team as well, so we are training together and we’re competing most of the same day,” Noah told Us Weekly. “We have that mental space to be able to share with each other and continuously feed to each other.”

You know what they say: The couple that trampolines together, stays together. These New Zealand trampolinists fell for each other in 2022, years after first meeting.

“It happened when we were competing at the 2022 champs, but it was a bit of a slow burn,” Dylan said. “Then after a year, we figured we’d give it a go. Maddie knew I was a bit of a jokester and that hunting was a big part of my life, so she knew what she was in for.”

Allie Willoughby and Sam Willoughby

In case you haven't heard their emotional story, Olympian Sam Willoughby was injured in a BMX accident in 2016. He then started training his wife, Allie, who says, "He puts as much effort into learning and growing as a coach as he did as an athlete. I mean, he changed the game as an athlete in our sport. And him showing up every single day for me, despite everything that, you know, he has to deal with in his day-to-day—you know, I get a front-row seat and see all of that. I appreciate it, and he is - yeah, he is an amazing individual, and I'm just lucky to call him my better half."

Slovakian race walkers Dominik Cerny and Hana Burzalova went viral for getting engaged after the World Athletics Championships, and now they're taking their romance to the Olympics.

“We have been together for almost one Olympic cycle, almost four years, so I think it was the right time,” Dominik told Olympics.com. “There are no plans yet for the wedding, maybe we will decide only two days in advance. We like to do random things. At the Paris Olympics maybe we will start as the Cerny family - maybe in the new event, the race walk relay.”

20

Celia Quansah and Meg Jones

Team GB's Celia Quansah and Meg Jones went from Rugby teammates to soulmates.

As Meg put it, "I actually didn’t really fancy Celia. As I got to know her, she was so kind, empathetic and compassionate. All the things that I lack! The more we spoke, the more I started to fancy her and love her more. We realized we are soulmates, which is crazy, because not many people can say that I don’t think."
