Big news for everyone holding out hope that Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke will get back together: Mother Hubbard is making a very special appearance on her ex’s podcast this week. Carl just took to Instagram to share his latest More Life With Carl Radke guest—and though the episode doesn’t drop until Tuesday, June 16, Cosmo got an exclusive sneak peek.
As a reminder: Carl doesn’t appear on In the City himself (during an appearance on Morgan’s Pop Talks podcast, he explained how the producers wanted the focus to be “more on the couples and the inner dynamics of living in Manhattan” and “less [on the] single people”). But he’s definitely watching this season, and during her appearance on his podcast, Lindsay gets candid about the “very difficult” experience of filming with her daughter, Gemma, for the first time.
“It was really intense,” Lindsay says of filming with a baby. “Like, the scheduling aspect of filming with a kid is in and of itself a full-time job. It’s not just me. It’s my schedule, Gemma’s schedule, my baby daddy’s schedule, my nanny schedule. I had to have babysitters on call because, god forbid, they were like, ‘Hey, you know, sending a text at midnight. You’re filming at this time tomorrow,’ and I’m like, ‘What?’”
However! She and Carl both agree: Gemma is a natural. Referencing that viral grocery store scene in which Gemma gave Amanda Batula a side-eye, Carl jokes, “She gave a great stare-down at the grocery store, which I think is making waves.”
Lindsay agrees, “She is my child. She’s a star.”
Lindsay previously talked about her decision to show Gemma on TV during an appearance on Untraditionally Lala, where she said, “In The City is literally a show that shows our next chapter of life. In my next chapter of life is me being a mom. How do you show me being a mom without me being a mom?”
Lindsay said she had a lot of conversations with her ex, Turner Kufe, and that it took “months and months and months and months of lawyer conversations” for him to agree on a compromise. “I do not post Gemma on social media at the request of the baby daddy,” she added. “You don’t want me to post her on social media? Fine. Is she going to be on the show? Yes.”
