The internet feels some type of way about Jacob Elordi these days. More specifically, fans don’t seem to be too thrilled to see the actor driving around L.A. (and paddleboarding around Hawai‘i…) with his rumored girlfriend, Kendall Jenner, after he reportedly dropped out of the competition jury at this year’s Cannes Film Festival due to a foot injury.
Per paparazzi pics obtained by DeuxMoi, the Euphoria star was spotted driving a car with Kendall in the passenger seat, along with Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet in the backseat, on Sunday, May 17.
Fans were quick to point out—and criticize—the Oscar nominee for driving with an injured foot when three other capable passengers were in the car.
“How do you turn down the chance to be one of the youngest-ever Cannes jury members due to a foot injury, only to be seen being the DRIVER in a car with 3 other passengers, each who could have taken the wheel if your foot was really that badly injured?” one fan wrote on social media, adding that him missing Cannes was a “fumble.”
The actor also missed out on the Met Gala (and the famous steps of New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art) amid his foot injury earlier this month.
Someone else came to Jacob’s defense, noting, “The stairs at Cannes are no joke. There are no ramps & no accessible options available. Whatever injury he may have had could’ve been worsened by attending.”
On the flip side, others are fully theorizing that Jacob skipped out on both major moments to audition for the highly coveted role of James Bond for a new film in the franchise. “Is this a cover story for him to go and audition for Bond?” someone questioned.
Per TMZ, Jacob was also spotted with Kendall on a private beach in Hawai‘i last weekend despite his reported injury. Neither Jacob nor his team has confirmed whether his foot is actually injured, though outlets like Page Six Hollywood and Variety claimed it was the reason he missed Cannes this year and being one of the youngest jury members in the festival’s history.
