• Bri Balram and DeMari Davis were romantically linked when they won season 6 of Netflix’s Too Hot to Handle.
  • They went on to date—and break up—off-camera, with Bri alleging DeMari cheated on her.
  • Now, the exes might reunite on Netflix’s Perfect Match in the wake of their messy split.

If there’s anything that Perfect Match does well, it’s bringing exes back together for a messy onscreen reunion. Last season, Bachelor Nation’s Rachel Recchia and Clayton Echard were reunited (and even briefly reconciled…), while season 4 forced Too Hot to Handle alums Bri Balram and DeMari Davis back into each other’s orbit. And in light of the blowout fight that went down between the two in the latest batch of episodes, now seems like a good time to review their history.

ICYMI, Bri and DeMari first met on season 6 of THTH (which was filmed in late 2023) and went on to win the whole show when they formed a genuine connection. The pair tried to keep their romance alive outside the villa, but after the season aired in August 2024, Bri and DeMari revealed that they’d decided to “take a break” and “separate for a little bit.”

As Bri explained to People, “We are still on our journey of BriMari,” later adding, “Marriage is something that I do want in my next partner that is long-term, which I hope is maybe DeMari.”

Eventually, the two did start their relationship back up again…only to split for a second time in February 2025, when Bri alleged that DeMari may have cheated on her in a TikTok posted on Valentine’s Day.

“In the month of February I cleared a fashion brand deal, received another ‘coming to you as a woman DM,’ buried my grandmother who was killed in my hometown,” she wrote, in part.

DeMari then hopped on camera to address the situation the next day, denying that he was unfaithful to Bri. “Sometimes the hardest thing in life to do is when you love somebody, when you love any thing is to know when it’s time to leave,” he said, in part, during his TikTok video shared the following day.

A few months after that in April 2025, Bri made an appearance on the Reality Receipts podcast, where she provided more deets on what went down. According to her, the breakup wasn’t due to cheating, but instead DeMari’s lack of compassion (per Bri, he got upset about a late Christmas present) following the death of Bri’s grandmother.

Given this…messy history between the pair, it makes sense that these two didn’t end up reconciling in the latest episode drop. Oh and btw: If you’re wondering why Marissa George even brought DeMari’s ex in, her answer makes sense…kind of.

As she told Swooon, “I wasn’t worried about Bri entering the competition. I don’t know if they showed it, but I was wanting to bring another Black girl in there with me. So I was like, ‘Bring her in!’ and DeMari’s like, ‘Absolutely not.’”

She continued, “I didn’t know their history. I’ve never seen her on the TV show, either, so I didn’t know anything about them. Had I known, maybe I wouldn’t have pushed so hard. I just thought it would be fun, and I wasn’t concerned about whether DeMari would go back to her. He was pretty adamant about not wanting that.”

The first seven episodes of Perfect Match season 4 are now streaming on Netflix.
