Lexie Brown has been making headlines—and it’s not because of her upcoming season with the WNBA’s Seattle Storm. After the internet rumor mill accused Lexie of having an entanglement with fellow basketball player Klay Thompson amid allegations that he cheated on Megan Thee Stallion, the athlete cleared the air with a statement posted to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, April 26.
“I’ve seen what’s being said online, and I want to be clear, none of it is true, and I have no involvement in this situation,” Lexie wrote to her followers.
She added, “This week marks the start of an important and exciting new season for me, and my focus is fully on that.”
Likely, she wrote this in response to a viral post on X, which claimed that Lexie was “posting [messages] on her close friends” between her and Klay, in which he (allegedly) claimed his romance with Megan was “just for social media.”
Her clarification comes a day after Meg took to her own Instagram Stories on April 25, where she accused the Dallas Mavericks athlete of cheating on her and having intense “mood swings” during his recent NBA season.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house…got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote, in part. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’????”
Meg continued, “Bitch I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall.”
Per fan-captured footage, the rapper seemed emotional after her performance as Zidler in Moulin Rouge! on Broadway the day after she blasted Klay on Instagram.
She later confirmed the split in a statement released to several outlets, including People, E! News, and TMZ, saying, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity, and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward.”
The Grammy winner added, “I’m taking this time to prioritize myself, and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
Klay has yet to confirm their split and/or respond to any allegations so…stand by!
