Cardi B is a Met Gala legend, and her 2026 “Costume Art” look proves that she’s one of the best to ever do it.
Cardi showed up on the annual red carpet—the dress code is “Fashion Is Art”—wearing a sheer black lace outfit with peekaboo pops of color and massive sleeves. She went all out with the details, which included touches of lavender and coral peeking through the fabric.
Cardi recently chatted with Emma Grede about how her approach to fashion and luxury has changed over the years, saying, “Sometimes I’ll look at my closet and think, These bags are kind of ugly. And even with jewelry, sometimes I’ll be like, ‘Wow, nobody wears these chains anymore. Why did I buy a chain with my name on it so big? It’s so ugly.’ Don’t buy a chain with your name on it. That’s not timeless. Now if you buy a tennis necklace or bracelet, it’s timeless. Jewelry styles change every two to three years. And I’ll ask myself, Why did I buy this?’ It’s so ugly?”
Cardi also offered up some advice, saying, “Make sure you buy timeless Hermès bags because I have so many of them and it’s like…the value of certain things just go up and down, and it’s like, oh my god, I just spent so much money on this.”
Will make sure to…do that!
