Zayn Malik recently went on Call Her Daddy and casually revealed that he was never in love with Gigi Hadid, comments that have left her blindsided.
In case you missed it, Zayn said "I don’t feel like it was love, and to be fair, just to say this on record, I will always love G, ’cause she’s the reason my child is, you know, on this earth and I have the utmost respect for her. I will always love her but I don’t know if I was ever in love with her."
Gigi's thoughts? A source told The Sun (via the Daily Mail) "There is nothing respectful about badmouthing the mother of your child. Gigi was completely blindsided. It's all so unnecessary and pathetic. It feels like a grubby ploy to get some headlines ahead of his new album launch."
They added, "How can he say he was never in love with her? They were together for six years. To even suggest that their daughter was not the product of a loving relationship is cruel beyond words. Gigi has always refrained from saying an unkind word about him, so it makes it all the more humiliating."
Gigi recently spoke about her and Zayn's coparenting with Vogue, saying "Zayn and I do our custody schedules months in advance. That doesn't mean that it doesn't change here and there, but we help each other out and have each other's backs." She added that there's "love, and a feeling of camaraderie."
