- Marc Anthony has called claims about the Beckham family feud "hardly the truth."
- Reminder: Brooklyn Beckham alleged that Victoria Beckham hijacked his first dance with Nicola Peltz.
- Marc Anthony was the wedding singer during the first dance in question...
Marc Anthony has finally ~broken his silence~ about Brooklyn Beckham's claims that Victoria Beckham danced "on him" inappropriately at his wedding to Nicola Peltz.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the singer first said “I have nothing to say about what’s happening with the family. They’re a wonderful, wonderful family. I’ve known them since before the kids were born. I’m godfather to Cruz. I’m really close to the family.”
But! He then added, “But I have nothing to say about what happened there. It’s extremely unfortunate how it’s playing out — but [how it’s playing out] is hardly the truth.”
According to Brooklyn, "In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment."
DeuxMoi also got a tip about the moment allll the way back in 2022:
"Marc Anthony sang at the wedding and held a speech," the tipster wrote. "The speech was the most awkward thing as he did not mention Nicola or her family at all. He then dedicated a song to VB and Brooklyn which set Nicola off - literally ran out crying and her entire family went after her. When the mom and son dance ended Brooklyn ran directly outside. They did not come back until the after party."
Meanwhile DJ Fat Tony (who DJ'd the wedding) claimed Marc Anthony requested that Brooklyn dance with "the most beautiful woman in the room" and then called up Victoria. "Brooklyn's stuck there on stage, and they do this dance, and Marc Anthony says, 'Put your hands on your mother’s hips,'" he said, adding that it was "really awkward."
Annnnnnnd fin.
