- Prince William wants to protect Princess Beatrice and Princess Beatrice.
- The royal is allegedly "weary" of Andrew Mountbattan-Windsor's scandal impacting his cousins, and doesn't want them "punished."
- William plans to include Beatrice and Eugenie in his "slimmed down monarchy."
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been stripped of his "prince" title and evicted from the Royal Lodge, and the scandal has cast a very negative spotlight on the royal family. Including Andrew's daughter's Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who are said to be panicking—despite the fact that their titles are secure.
And one person very much in their corner? Royal expert Robert Jobson tells Hello! Magazine that Prince William is eager to protect his cousins and doesn't want them being "punished."
"Those close to him say he is weary of the hysteria around Andrew. The outrage. The noise. The moral grandstanding," Jobson says. "His position is direct: Beatrice and Eugenie must not be punished for their father's alleged sins."
In fact, William plans to include Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie in his version of a "slimmed down monarchy." Per Jobson, "His focus is forward; and forward includes the York sisters."
Apparently William believes that his cousins "bring steadiness, purpose, and no theatrics" to the monarchy, and appreciates that their "uncomplaining attendance at state occasions and extra smiles Catherine's carol service. Their restraint has earned quiet public respect."
Jobson also notes that Beatrice and Eugenie's titles were "never in doubt" and that William and King Charles would never strip the identity from "two women who have shown loyalty in the hardest years."
