Considering all the ink he has, it’s not a surprise that Keith Urban has more than a few tattoos for Nicole Kidman. In fact, over the course of their 19-year marriage, the rocker got at least four tattoos dedicated to Nicole...but on the heels of their divorce news, fans are wondering what he’s going to do about that body art. Oh, and fun fact: This isn’t the first time Keith has found himself with a tattoo ode to an ex, either.
While it’s unclear whether Keith will be making a laser removal appointment anytime soon, here is what we do know about his four tattoos dedicated to Nicole.
His “NMK” Wrist Tattoo
During his previous four-year relationship with Niki Taylor, Keith and the model decided to get matching wrist tattoos reading amor vincit omnia, a Latin phrase translated to “love conquers all.” After they split, Keith had his tat covered up—and as part of a bigger work of ink, he (reportedly) got the letters “NMK”—for Nicole Mary Kidman—on the inside of his right wrist, though there aren’t any clear pictures of it online.
His “Nicole” Bicep Tattoo
Also on his right arm: this giant bicep tattoo, which fans first spotted during Keith’s Live Earth New York performance in June 2007, just about a year after he and Nicole tied the knot.
His “Mary” Knuckle Tattoo
And yet another tat on his right arm—or, rather, his right knuckles. Fans first spotted this ink—which features Nicole’s middle name, Mary, written across the knuckles on his right hand—at the 2021 ACM Awards.
His “Babygirl” Neck Tattoo
Even trickier to spot than his “NMK” wrist tattoo is the “babygirl” tattoo Keith got on the back of his neck (possibly as a nod to Nicole’s movie of the same name?).
It’s unclear when he got this one, but he’d been calling Nicole “babygirl” long before the movie came out (see this 2019 Instagram post caption), and Nicole joked that the nickname still belonged to him during a 2024 interview with W.
“Keith’s not allowed to call anyone else babygirl,” she said. “But now, because of the film, it’s taken on a different meaning. So he’s like, ‘No, I still have total rights over babygirl!’”
Brb, crying forever.
