- A source for The Sun revealed Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s reported wedding date.
- It was also revealed where all the wedding guests would be staying for the weekend.
- The venue (which is reportedly “a private estate in Santa Barbara”) will be kept a secret from guests until they arrive.
This just in: Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are tying the knot sooner than you think. Like, way sooner. The Sun just dropped the news the two are getting married “on September 27 at a private estate in Santa Barbara,” and per a source, Sel and Benny “have rented out the exclusive El Encanto hotel” for their guests to stay.
But apparently, the venue is being kept a secret for now...even from the wedding guests. According to The Sun, “All the guests will be picked up and driven to the location without knowing their destination ahead of time. Everyone is so excited despite the mystery, they know it will be an amazing time.”
Considering all the wedding leaks Selena and Benny have to deal with, I don’t blame them!
The Daily Mail was the first to spill deets on the big day, noting back in July that the couple would tie the knot in “a matter of weeks” in California. Per a source, “Selena and Benny’s wedding is going to be a two-day event in Montecito in September. Everyone invited has been asked to bring overnight bags to stay for the weekend.”
And that’s not all! The insider added that—while the wedding is small—there will definitely be celebs in attendance: “Although it’s for friends and family only, many on the friends list are huge celebrities including Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, Selena’s co-stars from Only Murders in the Building, and music superstars who are Benny’s friends and some he’s also worked with.” (Let’s not forget Ed Sheeran, who already confirmed his RSVP!)
Following the leak, new reports emerged that Selena and Benny were (understandably) “fuming”...but it was too late to change their plans.
“If it wasn’t just two months away, they’d think about changing the celebrations, but that’s an impossible task and they don’t want to delay the wedding and find a new location,” a source for the Daily Mail said at the time. “Instead, they’re doubling up on security to make the event as private as possible.”
Another source chimed in with, “Security for Selena’s wedding will be of the utmost importance because not only is she a public figure, many of the guests will be, too. She is going back and forth on whether or not to allow people to have their phones as an extra measure of security and privacy, along with the fact that she wants everyone to be present.”
