Well, 2025's great Met Gala mystery has been solved! Lisa's Met Gala look received intense criticism on Monday, with critics accusing her of walking the red carpet in an embroidered bodysuit by Louis Vuitton that depicted Rosa Parks. But now a representative for the artist Henry Taylor, who designed the original pattern, has confirmed that Rosa Parks was not on Lisa's crotch—or anywhere else on the garment.
“The faces seen on this look, as well as on previous LV garments featuring Taylor's artwork are all drawn from his personal life—family members, friends, and neighbors,” the rep said in a statement to Vulture, explaining that the figure identified online as Rosa Parks was actually one of Henry's neighbors. “These figures came directly from Henry's existing artworks, which he provided to LVMH for Pharrell's debut collection with Louis Vuitton in 2023.”
“Rosa Parks underwear” began trending during the Met Gala on Monday evening after the Blackpink star walked the red carpet.
Here is a closer look at Lisa’s outfit:
Fans are taking to X to express their disappointment, noting that depicting Rosa Parks’s face on a pair of underwear is disrespectful and in poor taste.
Lisa herself hasn’t responded to any of the comments just yet, but stay tuned.
