Whether you’re a Boy Meets World fan or merely a human who thrives on celebrity drama, Danielle Fishel and Maitland Ward are coming through. Some necessary background for everyone new here?

Danielle cohosts a podcast called Pod Meets World with fellow Boy Meets World stars Will Friedle and Rider Strong. Meanwhile, Danielle and Maitland have apparently been going through years of behind-the-scenes drama that started during the reboot of Girl Meets World back in 2014.

Cut to right now, when Maitland showed up on Pod Meets World and accused Danielle of unfriending her on Facebook, straight-up saying (in response to Danielle asking, “Do you hate us?”), “I think that you hate me because you wouldn’t speak to me when we would go to Girl Meets World and everything and that was hurtful.”

Danielle defended herself by explaining (via E! News), “I am not a Facebook person” and said that she eventually found a message from Maitland “in the graveyard of messages” and “felt very bad.”

Danielle then accused Maitland of trying to stir-up drama, saying, “I asked Will, ‘Will you please ask Maitland if I could have her phone number so I could apologize to her?’ And you wrote back to Will, ‘No, let’s just save it for the podcast, it will be great for the ratings.’”

(Note: Later in the podcast, Maitland accused Danielle of trying to get ratings, saying, “You’re trying to go at me now because of the ratings and because people will be interested” to which Danielle shot back, “No, Maitland, I’m not the one who wanted to go for ratings.”)

Anyway, Maitland went on to claim vibes were awkward on Girl Meets World, saying, “I know there was some beef between us because I didn’t get it. And maybe I picked up the wrong signals, but definitely there was some sort of weirdness there.”

And when Danielle tried to apologize, she said, “Listen, you didn’t like the fact that I was getting a lot of attention at that time and going off in my own space and taking away that attention.”

Maitland’s response? “I was on the cover of Maxim in 2014.”

During an interview with The New York Post on February 27, Maitland opened up about their podcast tiff and alleged that Danielle tried to start some drama.

“I think she wanted to catch me off guard. I think she wanted to try to rattle me and she did,” Maitland explained before adding, “What’s really hurtful about the situation is maybe she was mad and she wanted to bring it up like that—but Will had presented this show to me before like it was going to be so much fun.”

She shared that she was actually invited onto the pod by Will, who she was closer to over the years.

“He’s always been a friend to me, I thought. He was my connection. He would always check in. We weren’t seeing each other every day, but we were friends,” Maitland added. “If he knew this was gonna happen like this and didn’t give me any warning about it, that really sucks.”

“I was not going to start anything with her,” Maitland said of her conversation with Danielle. “We were just going to have conversations. As we got into the show, I thought it was weird that she wasn’t bringing anything up, even in conversation.”
