Cynthia Erivo’s red carpet looks during the Wicked press tour have been out of this world (her nails alone are worthy of an art book), but she truly ascended to new fashion heights at the 2025 Academy Awards.
Cynthia showed up on the Oscars red carpet wearing a stunning velvet ballgown in a rich green, with a high neck and pillowy off-the-shoulder sleeves.

Cynthia is nominated for Best Actress alongside Karla Sofia Gascón for Emilia Pérez, Mikey Madison for Anora, Demi Moore for The Substance, and Fernanda Torres for I’m Still Here.
She celebrated her nomination back in January on Instagram, writing, “Moments like this don’t come along very often, and when they do, it is sacrilege to let them pass by without a moment of gratitude. I am grateful, grateful to @theacademy, grateful to be a part of something that makes people feel seen, grateful to be a cog in the wheel of a piece that makes us believe in magic, grateful to have experienced a dream come true, and deeply deeply grateful for this unbelievable recognition. I often get asked what I would say to my younger self. Well today there’s nothing to be said. She is smiling, beaming, glowing from ear to ear. That speaks volumes.”
She also shouted out Ariana Grande and director Jon Chu, saying, “To my sister, @arianagrande, what a joy it is to be here with you watching as you ascend and amaze and become the actress you were meant to be.
