If you tune into the 2024 Super Bowl on Sunday, you may spot a fresh face between quarters: the one and only Ice Spice, who is making her Super Bowl commercial debut in a spot for lemon-lime soda Starry. And she's downright thrilled about it. "It's a huge opportunity," Ice told Cosmopolitan. "I'm really excited to be part of it. The Super Bowl is a huge moment."
The commercial (above) features Ice out getting drinks with an animated lemon and lime, when she spots her "ex." The whole thing is a big achievement for Ice. "I grew up watching the Super Bowl because my dad is a huge football fan, so every time a Super Bowl was going on, it was this big event in my house. I had to sit and watch it, even when I didn't want to," Ice joked.
Her first call when she landed the commercial? Her dad, of course. "My dad was the first person I told. I know he's so excited too because his favorite team the 49ers made it, so I'll be tuning in for sure."
Given the playful drama of the ad (it's got a run-in with an ex, a rejection, and a man combusting into tears), Ice got to flex her acting muscles—something she may continue to build on.
"Acting is definitely something I'd like to get more into. I had a lot of fun shooting the commercial," she said. "My ideal role would be anything baddie related. Just playing a bad bitch overall."
Until then though, she'll be hosting her own Super Bowl party (unless she manages to snag last-minute tickets) so she can watch and celebrate her commercial when it airs.
"I always looked forward to the ads because of their star-studded-ness while being really funny with huge productions," she said. "I'm so excited."
