And if that isn’t enough to keep Selenators beyond thrilled, at the end of the month, the singer also gives us a lil insight into the traits she’s looking for in a partner during a SiriusXM Hits 1 L.A. interview.
While discussing her “Single Soon” line about being “a little high-maintenance,” she dishes, “I think I have standards. And I think I live in a world right now where boys confuse standards with high-maintenance. It really isn’t [the same thing]. But the line was really fun because I’m not ashamed to say, ‘I actually require x, y, and z for you to be with me.’ So in a way, it was just meant to be for the attitude of the song. And that’s genuinely how I feel.”

Buckle up, ‘cause this is a big month for these two. First: Sel shares an Instagram Story of herself seemingly with Benny, which is a BIG FREAKIN’ DEAL:
Oh, and she *also* responds to comments on PopFaction’s page and defends Benny being her boyfriend after people hit the comments section of the post with their ~thoughts~ on the sitch (including one person noting that Benny seemed to be “shading you years ago”).
Some of the 🥺 clapbacks she pens? “He is my absolute everything in my heart,” “Lol yeah and he’s still better than anyone I’ve ever been with. Facts,” and “I don’t understand. If you actually care about me. This is my happiest. If you don’t feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I’m done. if you can’t accept me at my happiest, then don’t be in [my] life at all.”
We also learn that these two have apparently been together for six (!!) months, and in response to one commenter questioning her choice to date the producer, Selena writes, “Oh sweetheart, I’ve been in therapy since I was 18. I know what’s best for me and I will fight till I get what I deserve. I appreciate your misguided input, but I’m growing. Don’t feel free to grow with me, just know I’m not going to be with a f***boy ever again. Sorry to disappoint.”

Soon after, Benny opens up about his relationship with Sel in an interview with WSJ. Magazine—namely, the fact that, in a very Clueless-coded way, it took him a while to realize his true feelings for the Rare Beauty founder.
“I was the last one to know,” the producer confesses to the outlet. “It’s crazy how your partner could just be sitting there the whole time, right in front of your eyes, and you don’t even notice, and then you have that Clueless moment where you’re like, ‘Wait, I’m in love.’”

During his interview Benny opens up about his sweet relationship with Selena, saying, “I’m a real morning person. It’s my favorite time to spend with Sel, because we both wake up really early. It’s like our moment before the rest of the world wakes up.”
He continues, “I have a true best friend that I get to do everything in the world with, and every day is the best day of my life.”
Meanwhile, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sel gets candid about why she constantly shows off her 'ship with Benny on social media. “When you put a little bit out there, people are not as hungry to hunt you down,” she says. “Like, if they hear something, they’re going to, but if you’re like, ‘I did it,’ they’re like, ‘Oh, well there’s you, just going to Sushi Park.’ But there’s so much of my relationship people don’t see, that’s just mine.”

Per a source for the Daily Mail, “Selena and Benny’s wedding is going to be a two-day event in Montecito in September. Everyone invited has been asked to bring overnight bags to stay for the weekend."
The insider adds that while the wedding is small, there will definitely be celebs in attendance: “Although it’s for friends and family only, many on the friends list are huge celebrities including Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, Selena’s co-stars from Only Murders In The Building, and music superstars who are Benny’s friends and some he’s also worked with.”
