• Sources claim Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's reunion was "carefully staged."
  • The exes reunited during a screening for Kiss of the Spider Woman in New York City.
  • J.Lo stars in the film, which is produced by Ben.

The internet appears convinced that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are this close to getting back together (or at least still have a ton of chemistry) thanks to their recent red carpet appearance for Kiss of the Spider Woman in New York City.

In case you missed it, the exes both showed up on the red carpet and posed for pics—which was to be expected since she stars in the movie and he producers it! However, the vibes of said pics were....this.

Naturally, sources wasted no time speaking out, and "multiple" insiders tell Rob Shuter's ShuterScoop that their cozy reunion was "carefully staged."

"It was all planned," a source says. "They knew exactly what they were doing—the goal was to show the world they can still be in the same room: classy, civil, and camera-ready."

Apparently, timing was coordinated so that they'd run into each other on the red carpet, and another insider confirms "it was pure Hollywood choreography."

I mean, seemed pretty off-the-cuff and natural from where I'm sitting, but!

The photos were apparently intended to "reframe the breakup" and the pair "wanted that image out there: two icons, no bitterness."

FYI, this comes amid another source telling Page Six that J.Lo and Ben get along better when they aren't together, and that they play roles where she's "the glamorous, gorgeous diva superstar on a pedestal" and he's a "roguish cad who keeps her at a distance to maintain sexual tension." The source also stressed that "the minute they try to be anything more than that" (like, ya know, get married) "it’s so doomed."
