Kovie Biakolo is a freelance journalist and writer specializing in culture and identity, and the forthcoming author of Foremothers (2024), a narrative history of revolutionary women of the African diaspora in the last 500 years. She is also the Distinguished Lecturer for the Arts and Culture Reporting program at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York.
