• Wicked: For Good originally included a “passionate” kissing scene between Fiyero and Glinda, but it was cut for an understandable reason.
  • Co-screenwriter Dana Fox said all deleted scenes were removed “for exactly the right reasons,” including this one.
  • She also discussed the possibility of a Wicked 3, saying she’d be honored to join if it ever happened—though no plans currently exist.

Jon M. Chu promised us that Wicked: For Good would be horny, and he definitely delivered. Personally, I’m still thinking about that “As Long As You’re Mine” scene between Fiyero and Elphaba—but apparently, audiences were robbed of another hot ’n heavy scene between Fiyero and Glinda that was simply deemed “too passionate” to make the final cut.

When asked about Wicked: For Good deleted scenes during an interview with Deadline, co-screenwriter Dana Fox spilled alllll the details, noting that all the scenes that didn’t make it into the movie were “cut for exactly the right reasons.” According to Fox, one of those scenes included “a scene between Fiyero and Glinda...in which they kissed,” but that ended up on the cutting room floor because “it was romantic and beautiful, but a little too passionate.”

She continued, “It was too real that he and Glinda were actually feeling something together...so it was like, ‘Oh, we can’t know that because then our brains will explode when he doesn’t choose her in the end.’” Fair enough. But still—I need to see this scene!!!

Elsewhere in the interview, Fox opened up about the possibility of another Wicked installment, saying that—while she’s open to it—there aren’t currently any plans for a third film.

“I would be honored if anyone asked me to be a part of Wicked 3,” she said. “And I think that they are such beloved characters that seeing what they were up to, I mean, to me, the moment when Elphaba says in voiceover, ‘I know she can never know that we’re alive.’ I was like, somebody feels like they’re asking to find out that they are alive at some point. That feels really like, ‘Hello.’ That’s spicy to me. I love the idea that we could meet up with them again someday.”

For the record: While Chu previously revealed that Wicked “was always meant to be a two-movie experience,” he did go on to add, “Listen, you never know.”

Okay, but don’t tease me like that unless it’s happening!
