  • No divorce papers have been filed, but sources say they won't be getting back together.

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli survived the college admissions scandal, jail time, and a very public fall from grace, which is why their sudden split after 28 years of marriage caught many by surprise. However, a new report claims that this celebrity breakup has actually been a long time coming, and that Lori left Mossimo after finding “incriminating” text messages on his phone.

“Truly, the tipping point came when Lori found a bunch of text messages,” a source claimed to Page Six. The nature of these texts was not disclosed, but Page Six reported that they “made her not trust him.” In fact, things are so bad, per the source, that Lori “wants nothing to do with” her estranged husband.

“She wants to get her life back,” the source added.

Both Mossimo and Lori served jail time after pleading guilty of mail and wire fraud in relation to the college admissions scandal. They reportedly paid $500,000 to have their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Giannulli, incorrectly listed as crew recruits, essentially ensuring they would be admitted into the University of Southern California. In 2020, Lori served two months in federal prison, and Mossimo was sentenced to five.

Per the source, things between the couple have been tense for a while. “Mossimo has used Lori for years,” the source said. “She was hoping maybe he would change when he got out of prison, but he got worse.”

The split may have surprised fans, but friends of the couple saw it coming. “People around Lori and Mossimo have known they have been going through a really hard time in the last year,” a source told Us Weekly earlier this month. The source added that the couple had been on a break, and that Lori had hoped for a possible reconciliation. “It has been a rough time for Lori,” they continued. “She is devastated.”

Lori and Mossimo have yet to file for divorce, but if Page Six and Us Weekly are correct, it sounds like it’s only a matter of time.
