Kate Middleton's senior personal assistant and stylist, Natasha Archer, has unexpectedly quit her job after 15 years. People was the first to report the news, noting that Natasha is starting her "own private consultancy" and that the Prince and Princess of Wales' official "household" has wished her the "very best."
Natasha joined the royal family as a personal assistant to Wills and Kate, and then started worked as Kate's stylist. Last year, she was promoted to "senior private executive assistant to Kate and William," which the Daily Mail reported was "interpreted in Royal circles as a reward for her loyalty."
"Natasha deserves this boost–she's unfailingly discreet and loyal to Kate," a source said. "The salary boost will be welcome too. This appointment means we can expect to see Natasha by Kate's side for years to come. It seems to be Kate's way of thanking her for her loyalty."
Back in 2014, Vanity Fair spoke to an insider about Natasha's unofficial role as Kate's stylist, saying "Initially Kate was a reluctant fashion icon, but now she enjoys it. Tash helps source some of the clothes. She shops a lot for Kate online, and calls in hundreds of dresses for Kate to try on. She has persuaded Kate to take some more risks. The hemlines are shorter and Kate’s really pushing the boat out in the fashion stakes."
Thus far, Kate and William haven't said anything official about Natasha's departure!
