If you caught the 2025 VMAs, you either A) marveled at YUNGBLUD’s shirtless red carpet pics, B) scrolled through endless interviews to catch up with your latest obsession, C) watched his Ozzy Osbourne tribute performance on repeat, or D) all of the above. Either way, your group chats are likely blowing up with the same totally-not-thirsty question: Who is YUNGBLUD dating? And why is it not one of us?
The “Lovesick Lullaby” singer—whose real name is Dominic Richard Harrison, FYI—has been romantically linked to singer Jesse Jo Stark since June 2021. They’ve reportedly been on-again, off-again since then, and according to an exclusive interview with People from the VMAs, they’re back on.
“He is the sexiest man alive, and he’s got the heart as well to match the outside. Insides match the outside,” Jesse told the outlet. They were also seated next to each other inside the show and photographed with The Pretty Reckless’ Taylor Momsen at UBS Arena in New York.
As for YUNGBLUD and Jesse’s relationship, they first met when he DM’d her to be in his “strawberry lipstick” music video during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I honestly had always said ‘no’ in my life, and I was like, you know what? I’m going to say ‘yes’ to this one,” she explained on the Lipps Service with Scott Lipps podcast in May 2024.
However, they temporarily called it quits in March 2025 because the IDOLS artist was “struggling” with the pressures of living his life in the spotlight. During an interview with The Independent, he referred to Jesse as the love of his life and explained why they broke up at the time.
“It was a ‘me’ problem,” he said. “Everything is a ‘me’ problem. I was drowning, and I couldn’t figure out why. I’ve literally got a tattoo of her under my arm, here…I don’t know what it is. We needed space, we needed time, and she’s giving me that, because she truly gets me.”
He continued, “I needed to look at myself in the mirror, on my own for a while, and ask myself how I can be a better boyfriend, a better brother, son, a better artist.”
Then, in May, YUNGBLUD doubled down on the sentiment in a separate conversation for Paul C. Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, saying, “This year has been such a strange thing for me because it's the first time that probably the biggest love of my life, I’ve taken space from and I’ve asked for space.”
The “Lowlife” musician then confirmed he was still in love with her at that point, and when he was asked why they weren’t together, he shared, “I think at this moment in time, I needed to build up a fundamental basis of a personality. I was a shell, so I didn’t know what I could love.”
He continued, “I will love that girl until I die...I would love it for one day to have loads of kids with her and vibe out and do all the, like, whatever the fairy tale thing is, but if that doesn’t happen, that doesn’t happen.”
Well, it seems like it could potentially happen, because according to The Sun, the pair rekindled their flame after five months apart in August 2025. Their recent low-key appearance at the VMAs also confirmed that they’re still going strong! Now, excuse us as we weep at this sweet edit of the couple:
