• ABC announced that Taylor Frankie Paul—star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives—will be the next Bachelorette following Jenn Tran’s season.
  • Speculation began a day earlier, when Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper posted a reel teasing news about The Bachelorette season 22 and several Mormon Wives cast members took to her comments section.
  • More details about the upcoming season are revealed on the latest episode of Call Her Daddy, where Taylor Frankie Paul is officially introduced as the new Bachelorette.

Remember when the news broke back in February that ABC would be “pausing” the upcoming cycle of The Bachelorette following Jenn Tran’s season? Well, it seems the wait is (almost) over. ABC just named their next Bachelorette, and she is Taylor Frankie Paul...who, unlike past seasons, is not a from runner-up from the preceding Bachelor season, or even a member of Bachelor Nation at all. Surprise!

Fans first started theorizing about The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star possibly becoming the next Bachelorette on Sept. 9, the day before the news dropped. That’s when Call Her Daddy’s Alex Cooper posted a cryptic reel on Instagram, which shows her slicing a cake decorated with the words “Season 30” in blue frosting. (For the record: Grant Ellis’s season of The Bachelor was season 29.)

However, when she cuts into the cake, pink frosting is revealed inside. Her caption: “Change of plans 🌹.”

While the post seemed to suggest that a new season of The Bachelorette was on its way, the comments section gave a hint as to who that Bachelorette could be. Multiple Mormon Wives cast members showed up in the comments of Alex’s post—including Jessi Ngatikaura, who posted a side eye emoji and heart hands, Demi Engemann, who dropped an “Oop!” and a heart-eye emoji. Iiiinteresting.

Rumors only escalated after Alex posted a second reel later on in the day, confirming that the next Bachelorette would indeed be announced on the Sept. 10 episode of Call Her Daddy...and the mystery woman was part of a show outside of The Bachelor.

You can check out the full Call Her Daddy episode (which just dropped) with the big announcement here:

If you’re a Mormon Wives fan, then you know that only two cast member are unmarried at the moment, and that’s Layla Taylor (who’s currently dating Mason McWhorter, aka the brother of her co-star Miranda McWhorter’s ex-husband, Chase) and Taylor Frankie Paul, who called it quits with Dakota Mortensen back in December 2024.

A little more background on TFP while we’re here: The 31-year-old is a full-time content creator based in Utah who’s best known for MomTok, dirty soda, and the soft-swinging scandal that rocked her group of Mormon moms back in 2022. She shares two children with her ex-husband Tate Paul (who she divorced not long after the soft-swinging scandal went viral) and a third child with her more recent ex, Dakota.

According to her official bio (courtesy of ABC), “Paul is the breakout star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, captivating millions with her raw, unapologetic storytelling. Off-screen, she’s a TikTok powerhouse whose comedic, heartwarming, and bitingly honest content has earned her a massive following. As a single mother of three, Paul shares the highs and lows of her life with unfiltered candor. With humor, resilience and a fearless openness, she inspires others to embrace life’s chaos and own their story.”

And while season 22 of The Bachelorette won’t debut until 2026, you can get more of Taylor in a few months, when The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives returns for season 3 on Nov. 13.
