• Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been evicted from the Royal Lodge.
  • Despite reports that he'd move into Frogmore Cottage, Andrew is being relocated to the Sandringham Estate.
  • King Charles is paying for the move.

News broke yesterday that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (FKA Prince Andrew) will finally be leaving the Royal Lodge after multiple attempts to evict him from the property. The update was announced in a statement from Buckingham Palace, reading in part "Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation."

So, where is Andrew moving? There was previously speculation that he wanted to take over Frogmore Cottage—the former home of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. But according to the Daily Mail and The Times, he's actually being banished to Sandringham, the large estate in Norfolk where the royals traditionally spend Christmas holidays.

Sandringham is a private £60 million estate and—per The Times—Andrew's move "will be funded privately by the King." Meaning, British taxpayer money is not on the table.

There are several homes on the estate that Andrew could move into, including York Cottage (which was "previously been used as holiday accommodation, the estate office and accommodation for estate employees"), the six-bedroom Gardens House, Park House (where Princess Diana was born), or Wood Farm (which Prince Phillip used as a private retreat).
