The most powerful Black Lives Matter protest photos from around the world
Protests have the power to make change.

Black Lives Matter protests have taken place across the world following the death of Black American George Floyd at the hands of white police officer Derek Chauvin. Chauvin has since been charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter (for which the case is yet to go to trial) but the three other police officers involved in Floyd's incident still walk free.
Floyd's death is, sadly, one of multiple fatal cases of racism and police brutality against Black people to make headlines recently. In February, Ahmaud Arbery was shot to death while on a jog. Breonna Taylor was fatally shot in her own home in March by police conducting a raid. Brianna Hill. Trayvon Martin. Michael Brown. The list goes on.
In response, the global Black Lives Matter movement calls for Black people and allies to unite and take to the streets to call for justice. Over the last week, protests and rallies have spanned from the United States to England, The Netherlands to New Zealand.
These are some of the most powerful photos to emerge from the Black Lives Matter protests around the world.
