The first pictures ever shown to the public of Prince Louis were taken on the steps of St Mary's Hospital in London. Just hours old, he was wrapped in a blanket, held in his mother's arms, and shown off to the world's waiting media.

Doesn't he look happy to have been christened? In July 2018, when Prince Louis was just two-and-a-half months old, the royal family celebrated his christening at the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace. A week or so later, they shared some of the official portraits from the day, including this cute one showing off the baby prince's megawatt smile.

Prince Louis features in this family photo taken in celebration of grandfather Prince Charles' 70th birthday. While it wasn't released until November to coincide with the Prince of Wales' big day, the portrait is believed to have been taken in September, when Louis was five months old. Loving the kids' co-ordinated outfits!

7October/November 2018
For the Cambridge's Christmas card in 2018, the whole family posed outdoors at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall. Although the picture wasn't released until Christmas time, the autumnal colours and the look of the leaves suggest the portrait was actually taken in October or November, making Prince Louis six or seven months old. Doesn't he look like an adorable little old man??

By the age of one, Prince Louis was full steam ahead with his walking - shown off in this sweet picture taken at the Chelsea Flower Show. The family was photographed playing in the garden mum Kate had designed for the show, and by the looks of it, Louis was absolutely loving the exploration.

It was then another quiet few months for little Louis, who was kept largely out of the royal spotlight until December 2019 when he was seen in a family photo shared by the Cambridges on Christmas Day. Taken by Kate Middleton, the picture featured Prince William in a flat cap, kissing Louis on the cheek, with Charlotte and George by his side.

As we neared the end of the first lockdown, Kensington Palace released this photograph for Prince William's birthday, featuring him with all three of his children, in which Prince Louis can be seen sitting on his dad's knee with some lockown-long hair.

A glittering YouTube career ahead? Louis starred alongside his brother, Prince George, and his sister, Princess Charlotte in a video asking naturalist David Attenborough all of the questions. This was the first time we'd heard any of the Cambridge kids speak in public and it's really quite adorable.

Quite unbelievably, Louis is now three-years-old! To mark the happy occasion, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a photo of Louis ahead of his first day at nursery (taken by Kate herself).
