- Prince Harry is hopeful that Archie and Lilibet can see King Charles in the UK sometime soon.
- The kids have not been to the country since 2022.
- While Harry is craving “family time,” he will likely not bring Archie and Lilibet if a security detail is not offered.
Prince Harry and King Charles’s relationship with each other has been improving at a slow and steady pace, but now, Harry is looking to take the next major step by bringing his children, Archie and Lilibet, to England to see their grandfather, The Times reports.
While Harry has seen Charles in recent years, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet haven’t visited the country since 2022. The kids attended Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, while Meghan attended Elizabeth’s funeral in September of that same year, alongside Harry. As a refresher, Harry and Meghan have been weary to travel back and forth to the UK because of a lack of royal security.
“If he was invited by the King, he would get a package of security that automatically kicks in,” a source close to Harry told The Times. “He’d like an invite to Sandringham. Would he go? It would depend who was there. If the King was to say, ‘Come up and spend some time with the family,’ he’d love that.” Harry is really craving “family time” with Charles.
Of course, Harry doesn’t plan on packing his bags unless he gets a security detail for the children. “There is not a world in which he brings the kids back unless there is an enhanced security package around them,” the source noted. “If the King wants to see the kids, all he needs to do is invite them over and it can happen.”
Ultimately, the decision for security “is up to the King.” The source noted that “there are lots of scenarios to make it work, but it’s all out of Harry’s hands. No father would want to put their kids at any risk.”
It isn’t too surprising that Harry wants Archie and Lilibet to spend time in England— a source previously told The Times, “he’s not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK. He wants to be able to show his children where he grew up. He wants them to know their family here. He really would like to come back to the UK much more.”
