As is tradition for all the Wales children on their birthdays, the Palace has shared a new photo of Prince Louis to celebrate Prince William and Kate Middleton's youngest child turning seven. Yep, seven! Can you believe it?

In the photo, captured by Josh Shinner, Louis is sat on a tree trunk and looking smart in a shirt, jumper and jeans – and eagle-eyed royal fans are all commenting on a big change to his appearance: he's lost his front teeth. Cute!

Displaying an adorable gappy grin for the camera, Louis looks happy and healthy in his new birthday portrait and fans are seemingly delighted to get a glimpse at how quickly he's growing up.

One commented with birthday wishes and a note about the Prince's teeth, writing: "Ahh happy birthday Prince Louis, you are growing up so quickly and those missing teeth, just the sweetest. Have the best day ever 🌺🎂🎉."

Another added, "Happy Birthday Prince Louis 🥳🎉🎊 !!! So grown up... At the stage of losing teeth" while a third wrote that they remembered going through a toothless phase at a similar age. "That smile! Me too, I had this when I was seven."

Over the years, the Princess of Wales has often been the one behind the camera, snapping the intimate portraits for her children, but this year the honour of capturing the official portrait for Louis' 7th birthday went to Josh Shinner, who has previously taken other photos of the royals and for the likes of Harper's Bazaar.

Everyone's clicking on...

Shinner was also given the honour of capturing the Prince and Princess of Wales and all three of their children for their 2023 Christmas portrait.

Commenting on the special occasion, the snapper said on his Instagram at the time, "It was such a pleasure to photograph The Prince and Princess of Wales and their family for the Christmas portrait this year. Without doubt one of the most relaxed and enjoyable sittings I’ve ever had, and I now have a whole new set of jokes that are right on my level thanks to the children…

"A huge thanks to the @princeandprincessofwales for having me."

We honestly can't get over how quickly little Louis has suddenly grown up!
