As part of his return to the White House as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump (along with his Vice President, JD Vance) was sworn in at an elaborate ceremony – which saw the new leaders of America pledge on the bible to "preserve, protect and defend" the Constitution.

It also sees Trump become the first convicted felon to win a Presidential election in the United States.

Alongside the traditional and more official aspects of the swearing in ceremony, there were some blink-and-you'll-miss-them moments that got social media talking – from Melania's wardrobe choice (which resulted in a clunky PDA moment) to the guest list, which featured tech bros such as Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, and influencers, like Jake and Paul Logan.

Melania's hat stole the show

First Lady (for the second time), Melania Trump wore a wide-brimmed hat which unfortunately prevented her husband from being able to reach her cheek when he tried to kiss her on the main stage. X, formerly known as Twitter, naturally picked up on this.

Influencers Jake and Paul Logan were in the crowd

It's been reported that Trump's youngest son, Barron, is the one who encouraged his father to tap into the Gen Z vote by appearing on popular YouTuber's channels, including Logan Paul's 'IMPAULSIVE' podcast.

Unsurprisingly, given his newfound friendship with Trump and newly imagined role in government, Elon Musk (X owner and Tesla founder), appeared front and centre at the inauguration, alongside Meta's CEO Mark Zuckerberg (who recently proclaimed the workplace needs more 'masculine' energy – which many interpreted as him trying to get on Trump and Musk's good side) and Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.

While her husband, former president Barack Obama, was in attendance, along with fellow Democrat big names, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Bill and Hillary Clinton, former first lady, Michelle, did not attend the ceremony.

She wasn't the only notable name missing: Karen Pence, the wife of Trump's former Vice President, Mike Pence, also skipped the inauguration.
