A murder investigation has been launched by police after a 31-year-old woman has gone missing in Derbyshire.

According to Derbyshire Police, Sarah Henshaw was last seen at around 9pm on Tuesday 20 June at her home address on Norman Street in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

A man has been arrested in connection with the investigation and he's currently in custody.

Her disappearance is described as "very out of character" and police have information suggesting she may be seriously hurt or has passed away.

Detective Inspector Maria Pleace said: "We have information in relation to Sarah’s disappearance that has led us to believe that she may be seriously hurt or deceased. Sarah’s disappearance is very out of character and finding her is our number one priority at this time."

Police have launched an appeal to the public for CCTV and dash-cam footage of a blue Ford Transit van from the early hours of Wednesday 21 June, around the area of junction 29 of the M1 and the A617 in Chesterfield.

Sarah is described as white and of a medium build with long dark straight hair, which she wears in a bun. She was last seen on CCTV wearing a black lightweight coat, a khaki green top, blue skinny jeans and black flat ballet pumps. She has a tattoo of some stars on her right foot and was wearing gold hoop earrings.
