A series of official photos have been released to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The portraits are undeniably spectacular and have given fans a closer look at the newly-crowned monarchs. But one photo in particular has left a lot of fans with, well, a lot of questions.

In the photo, shared on Monday 8 May, Charles and Camilla pose alongside a series of other royals, many of them familiar, such as the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh – but many of them not quite.

So, who are the working royals in the official coronation portrait?

"An official portrait following the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla on 6th May," read the caption of the post, shared on the Royal Family's official Instagram account.

The caption then went on to highlight who each royal is, clearing up any confusion fans might have about the working royals included in the portrait.

"Pictured from left to right: The Duke of Kent, The Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Gloucester, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Princess Royal, The King, The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Princess of Wales, The Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Alexandra, The Duke of Edinburgh."

Why isn't Prince Harry in the portrait?

As well as wondering who the royals in the portrait are, other fans were confused as to why Charles' son, Prince Harry, wasn't included, despite still being in line to the British throne.

Everyone's clicking on...

One royal fan said it was "so sad" that the Duke of Sussex was missing, as someone else argued that the photo would "never be complete" without him.

Other fans pointed out that the reason Harry isn't in the photo is because he is no longer a working member of the Royal Family, having stepped down with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020. "This is an official portrait with working royals only, this is why Harry and Andrew are missing," one fan commented, referencing the King's brother, who's also missing from the photo.
