Since the release of their bombshell Netflix series, and Prince Harry's subsequent memoir, royal fans have been wondering: Will the Duke and Duchess of Sussex be invited to King Charles III's upcoming coronation?

Now, it seems, the answer to that question is yes.

According to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they've received a 'save the date' style email, with an official invitation set to follow.

"I can confirm the Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty's office regarding the coronation," a spokesperson for the Sussexes said. "An immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time."

Buckingham Palace is yet to confirm – or deny – that Harry and Meghan were sent such an email, but a source who spoke to the Daily Mail claimed that staff organising the event are anticipating their attendance.

"Harry and Meghan are being factored into all of the planning... the cars, the seating plans, dining arrangements, everything," the insider told the newspaper.

"No one knows for certain whether this means they have definitely accepted – it could, of course, be just in case they do – but it’s clearly not a 'no'," the source added. "The staff are certainly working on the expectation they are coming. These kind of arrangements have to be made well in advance."

As we all know, King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned on 6 May at Westminster Abbey. The Abbey has capacity for about 2,200 guests, and many public figures, politicians and international dignitaries are expected to attend, as well as members of the Royal Family and their friends.

Last month, a source implied that the Sussexes would attend the coronation on 'one condition'. Speaking to The Mirror, the insider claimed there's a chance that Harry and Meghan will attend the coronation, so long as the environment that they walk into isn't "toxic".

"Harry has been very clear and his position hasn’t wavered – he isn’t going to come if he feels the atmosphere will be as toxic as it was during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and funeral," the source said.
