The long-awaited ballot to grab tickets for the King’s Coronation Concert is now open (as of 7am on 10 February), but there are only 10,000 free tickets available via a ballot held by Ticketmaster.

The music extravaganza, which will be held on Sunday 7 May (King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned on 6 May), will host a range of talent, from entertainers and performers, to musicians, contemporary artists, an orchestra performance and an exclusive choir show. Watch this space for when the full line-up is revealed.

The concert will be broadcast live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds, but if you fancy yourself an in-person royal experience at Windsor Castle, here’s how you can enter into the draw. Fingers crossed everyone!

P.S. The website for entries will remain open until 28 February 2023.

How to get Coronation Concert tickets

First, you’ll want to head to the Ticketmaster website here, where you will need to give your details: name, address, place of birth, DOB, your favoured form of ID, phone number and email. You can then provide the second guests details in the same fashion.

But of course with such a special event, there are rules to consider.

To apply, you also have to be a resident of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. Anyone with a BFPO (British Forces Post Office) address is also allowed to enter.

You must be aged eighteen or over to enter the draw, however the second guest can be aged 11 or over. Anyone aged between 11 and 16 who is attending must be with a parent or legal guardian in order to come along.

The Coronation Concert 2023 will take place at Windsor Castle

The ballot is not a first come first serve situation either, it will be distributed fairly across the country and winners will be allocated based on the geographical spread of the UK’s population. Basically, there’s as much chance of being selected if you applied on the 10 February as there is on the 28 February.

Once entries for the draw are closed, the recipients will be chosen at random, and 5,000 people will each be given a pair of tickets.

There isn’t a formal dress code, but the BBC website suggests guests “avoid wearing clothing with large slogans and offensive wording”.

All tickets available are standing only. There are full terms and details on the BBC website. Here’s the link – and good luck!Winners will be notified by email by the middle of April 2023. And that’s it... Good luck!
