It's no secret that the Royal Family's genes are pretty darn strong – just take one look at a family portrait and you can see the similarities in abundance. It's no wonder then that even Prince Harry himself recently pointed out how his appearance has been affected by his genes, especially when it comes to his hair, which he revealed is "doomed".
Chatting with athletes at last week's Invictus Games – which he founded in 2014 to support the rehabilitation of injured military veterans after his own tour of duty in Afghanistan – Prince Harry made light of his thinning hair. "You’ve got a lot more to be done there," the Duke of Sussex quipped to an athlete who was having makeup applied to his head. In response, the athlete said that it "won’t take a long time" until he has no hair left altogether.
Referencing his own hair, Harry jokingly responded: "But you’re slower than me. I’m already... I’m doomed." Joining in the conversation, a second athlete said, "We have the same barber, I guess," to which the Duke let out a laugh.
Harry's comments about his hair – or lack of – come alongside news that he and wife Meghan Markle made a surprise (and secret) visit to the Queen. The meeting marked the Sussexes' first visit to the UK in over two years, since they announced their departure from life as senior working royals in 2020.
Previously, Harry had vocalised his concerns about his family's safety in the UK, and recently pulled out of his grandfather's memorial service, further casting doubt that he and Meghan would be making a return anytime soon. But perhaps they were simply trying to throw us all off the scent, as they did in fact enjoy a catchup with Her Majesty during their visit to Europe over the Easter weekend.
And it seems their royal engagement has mended some bridges, with Prince Harry and Meghan reportedly being offered an invite to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony later this year to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. If they choose to attend, the couple will join their family to make the traditional balcony appearance as they watch an RAF aircraft fly past in celebration of Her Majesty's record-breaking reign.
According to the Telegraph however, the duo wont be permitted to take part in any of the other Platinum Jubilee festivities, due to their resignation as senior royals.
