Prince William is reportedly planning to give his future royal title – the Prince of Wales – one helluva makeover. The title, which is currently held by Prince Charles, will pass down to the Duke of Cambridge when his father becomes King.
As part of his vision to overhaul the Prince of Wales title, William plans to focus on "five or six core charity subjects" as well as giving extra attention to mental health, the environment (which he is already very passionate about) and children's early years development.
And it's not just his own future that he's got earmarked for change, as he has big plans for wife Kate Middleton, too. In fact the Duchess of Cambridge – who will likely take on the Princess of Wales title, although it hasn't been used since the death of Princess Diana – will be expected to go on more international tours alone, while William stays in the UK to focus on his charitable endeavours.
"This approach isn’t a criticism of what has come before but just an acknowledgment of a desire for change," a royal insider told the Mail Online. "It’s about hope and optimism for the future. What is driving the Duke and Duchess in everything they do is [that] urgency plus optimism equals action."
The source went on, "Many of the causes adopted by the Duke and Duchess, whether it’s Earthshot or the early years work, also touches on every other aspect of society so it’s not that they’re excluding other good causes by having a focus."
The Prince's decision to overhaul his and Kate's future is apparently being branded the "Cambridge Way" by palace aides, and according to the report, William is planning to cut approximately 50 percent of the 140 staff members that currently work for the Prince of Wales – which mirrors the plans his own father has laid out for the Monarchy.

As it turns out, Prince Charles plans to drastically cut down the royal estate when he eventually takes over the throne from the Queen. Speaking to the Daily Mail, a royal source revealed that the 73-year-old royal wants to reduce the Monarch's living quarters at Buckingham Palace and open up more of the space to the public. Similarly, he plans to convert the Queen's favourite residence, Balmoral Castle, into a museum.
"The Prince of Wales strongly believes that these places have got to deliver something for the public beyond just being somewhere for members of the Royal Family to live," the source said, "Everything is seen through the lens of the question: 'What value is this offering to the public?'"
