Dani Dyer's boyfriend, Sammy Kimmence, has been sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for scamming two pensioners out of almost £34,000. Kimmence, who is father to Love Island star Dani's six-month-old son, Santiago, reportedly cried as he was handed his sentence.
The 25-year-old former stockbroker and amateur footballer posed as a financial advisor to two elderly men, swindling them out of savings. The victims of the scam, 91-year-old Peter Martin and 81-year-old Peter Haynes, had been clients at a company Kimmence previously worked for, which shut down. Sadly, Peter Martin passed away in November last year, and Peter Haynes suffers from Alzheimer's.
Following the demise of the company, Kimmence masqueraded as a financial advisor and took the gentlemen's money. He was accused of using one of his victims' credit cards to make purchases of over £1,300, and using another of their bank cards to withdraw more than £1,200 for himself. He also managed to con Peter Martin into transferring him more than £23,000 across two different transactions, and Peter Haynes was manipulated into sending him £7,927. Kimmence pleaded guilty to five counts of fraud in April this year.
At the sentencing today, Portsmouth crown court heard that the defendant paid off his overdraft, went on holiday, and bought designer clothes with the money. Meanwhile, one of the elderly victims was left "on the breadline."
Judge Timothy Mousley QC said in court: "You didn’t show any remorse immediately and I do not consider any remorse to be profound. You defrauded two men of significant sums of money, both were elderly gentlemen, neither was a wealthy man.
"Whilst these men trusted you, you used their money to fund your lifestyle," the judge added.

A statement from the late Peter Martin was read in court. It said: "I have been left at times very stressed over money, having given thousands to Sammy who I thought was investing it for me."
Mr Haynes, a former aircraft engineer and RAF veteran, also provided a statement. "All the savings I have accrued over my working life have been wiped out, my bank account shows zero, I am sick with worry," it read.
Sammy Kimmence will now start a sentence of three-and-a-half years in jail, and he will have to serve at least half of that time inside prison. He says he has saved up £10,000 to repay his victims.
Dani Dyer gave birth to the couple's son, Santiago, in January this year. Speaking on her dad's podcast, the 24-year-old mum said: "Me and Sammy are so in love with him. He’s just so perfect and the feeling is just incredible, I can’t put into words how it feels."
The Love Island star hasn't publicly addressed her partner's charges.
