Last night was major for England. The whole country watched as the national football team won their Euros semi-final match against Denmark, paving the way for them to play in the tournament's final against Italy. It's the first time England has reached the final of a major tournament since 1966, when we won the world cup.
As you'll no doubt have seen by the many Instagram Stories of pubs erupting in cheer at our two goals, the response to the win was unanimously one of excitement. And it seems that's not lost on members of the royal family, either.
You might not imagine the royals are the types to don England shirts and get the beers in to watch the match, like the rest of the country. But Princess Eugenie's response on Instagram to England's win suggests that actually, they may well be...
After posting a series of celebratory Instagram stories, including one that labelled manager Gareth Southgate a "hero," Eugenie shared an iconic clip from Friends that pretty much sums up the mood. This one:
Incredible. Side note: Am I the only one who finds it odd and also wonderful to think of members of the royal family watching Friends?
Princess Eugenie isn't the only royal family member to have been excited about yesterday's match, either. Prince Charles went all out for the occasion yesterday, inviting the Band of the Coldstream Guards to play some rousing football anthems in the garden of their London residence, Clarence House
Everyone's clicking on...
In a video shared on social media (with the hashtag #ItsComingHome, no less), the musicians could be seen dressed in their traditional bearskin hats to play impressive renditions of Three Lions and Sweet Caroline. Who knew the songs could sound even better when played with wind instruments?
Prince William, being a big football fan himself and the President of the FA, was also present at last night's semi-final, although wife Kate Middleton and their eldest son, Prince George didn't join him this time. Last week, the three members of the Cambridge family turned up to Wembley Stadium to watch the England v Germany last 16 match, which was conveniently scheduled for an early 5pm kick off.
Prince George, dressed in an adorable little suit and tie, was seen clapping with glee when the team won 2-0.
I'm now having visions of Princess Eugenie dressing her baby son August up in an England baby grow for yesterday's game, and am hoping very much this might be true. Well, there's still the final if she wanted to share it on Instagram...
