Members of the Royal Family, including the Queen, have taken taken to social media to send birthday wishes to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. Somehow - seriously, where does the time go?! - Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's son is two today!

Alongside the special message from the Queen, which reads "Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 2nd birthday today. 🎈", the official Royal Family account also shared a photograph of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex holding Archie. The shot is one that was taken during the official photo call arranged just days after his birth, in lieu of Meghan following the royal tradition of posing with her newborn on the steps outside the hospital that she gave birth in (which is entirely fair enough tbh).

Royal enthusiasts have already flooded the post with comments, also wishing Archie a wonderful day, with one writing, "Happy Birthday to sweet Archie πŸ’™". Another added, "Already 2 years 😳 wow time really does fly".

Prince Charles, Harry's father and Archie's grandfather, also posted a throwback picture as part of his birthday message. Accompanying a black and white photo of the Duke of Sussex holding Archie at his christening, with Prince Charles looking over at the baby and seeming rather chuffed, a similarly well-wishing message was shared: "Happy birthday to Archie, who turns two today. πŸŽ‚"

The eagle-eyed among us will remember that this is the same photograph the Clarence House Instagram account (dedicated to all things Charles and Camilla) used to wish Archie a happy birthday last year. This is likely because Meghan and Harry have now stepped down from their senior working royal roles and rarely share images of Archie, and of course, because the pandemic has prevented the family spending time together in-person.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have also posted a birthday tribute to Archie, alongside a family portrait (again taken during his christening). Their messages says, "Wishing Archie a very happy 2nd birthday today. πŸŽˆπŸŽ‚"

Everyone's clicking on...

No doubt the Sussex household over in Montecito will be doing something extra special to celebrate Archie today, especially as this will be his last birthday spent as an only child. Meghan, who is currently pregnant with a girl, revealed during her and Harry's divisive Oprah interview that their daughter will be born sometime this summer.

Many are already speculating as to the name of the unborn child, with bets being placed on a tribute to Harry's grandmother, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Here's wishing little Archie the happiest of birthdays!
